Golden Corral Colony

#1

Post by Tim_the_Bald »

I went to the Golden Corral with my family on 12-12-09 and noticed a laminated sign on the wall that said in Spanish and English "Carrying a Handgun on these premises is prohibited." Since it was not a proper 30.06 sign I ignored it (I was carrying at the time). I just wondered why the sign was there and if anyone has seen it, or signs at any other Golden Corral restaurants. I took a picture of it and plan to contact the company.

The sign has no legal force. Please do not educate the company as to the legally valid signage.

Probably the sign is there because some droid in the company's legal department thought it was a good idea.

I would just leave well enough alone.
Possible scenario:
You inform them the sign is wrong. They say, "Hey, thanks mister! We'll post the proper sign. Again, Thanks!"
Then you'll never be back to Golden Corral and be legally armed.
More agreeable scenario (IMO):
The Colonel Klink conundrum (I know NOTHING!)

On opencarry.org, someone inquired and found that Golden Corral has a nationwide policy of no guns allowed. This was after an open carry meet-up that had been scheduled for the meeting room, got booted. But, open carry meetings are held at other Golden Corrals around the country, so it's apparently not uniformly enforced.

I agree about not educating.

What every one else said above, "let sleeping dogs lie".

Golden Corral's sign is designed to keep out robbers, thugs, murderers and various other sodomites. It's not directed to the law abiding CHL holders.

I'm with the others on this one. Please don't say anything to the company! Think about this for a moment. This sign is like an invitation to a CHL holder. If you tell them that, they may already know, but just in case they don't, they might then put up a proper 30.06 sign. Then, not only have you banished yourself, but possibly dozens of other honest law abiding citizens from their favorite place to eat.

After pondering the wisdom of my brothers, I have decided to follow your advise. I will carry an even larger gun the next time I go there to eat, properly concealed, of course.

And to be fair, I've eaten in better places and would not be devastated if I had to boycott them.

Sorry, guys, I'll have to take my last post back. Look at this link:

http://concealedcarryforum.com/forum/to ... C_ID=16596" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am not going to eat there anymore. As I said, the food's not that good. The one in the Colony got busted for having rats on the premises.

That may be, but you cannot beat the price for all you can eat and that goes a long way with us Senior Citizens on Social Security that have to eat cat food outta a can at home and are just able to go to the Golden Corral once a week and "live it up"! :anamatedbanana

Once they cut my Medicare by 500 billion dollars, i'll be back to canned cat food 7 days a week!(J/K on this paragraph, as I have the VA coverage in place of Medicare and I am glad for it. I do feel sorry for the Seniors that depend on Medicare/Medicaid though and it is going to be tough for them).
