We leave Monday for our next chapter of life. We're moving to Iowa.

I would like to say that I have met several of the members here on the board at the state shoot and at PSC and it was a pleasure. Great folks one and all.

My wife and I have enjoyed our time in Texas and if at all possible will come back as soon as we can. I have never lived anywhere that we felt as free to do what we wanted without someone sticking their noses in.

We have also met some good people in the Beaumont and Orange shooting clubs. If you make it to the Golden Triangle area, make sure you come out and shoot one of their IDPA matches.

Great site and keep up the good work.

John

PS - drop in on the Iowacarry.org site to take a look around. They have a good grass roots effort started and a lot of work ahead of them.

What part? My wife is from Dubuque originally, but spent about half her growing-up years in Shreveport.

She'd love to get back to visit. She hasn't been there since she was 16. She loves Hot Springs, AR, because she says it reminds her of Dubuque.

Thanks Morris, we will miss the matches also. My wife and I have made a lot of freinds at Golden Triangle Gun Club.

KB - We will be in the center of the state in a little town called Adel. I think Dubuque is where they based the movie "Take This Job and Shove It".

A not so funny story. We picked the county to live based on the county sheriff. In Iowa the sheriff has the final call on if you get a ccw and what restrictions are put on it. From the research I did, I found that the sheriff was good about issuing ccw's without restrictions (hunting only, range only, etc). I've been reading the iowacarry.org site and found out that he is in a little trouble and may be replaced. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we can get our ccw's before him and his administration get replaced with a ccw nazi.

Thanks for the well wishes.

If anyone ever makes it up that was, drop me a PM and I we can go out and shoot a few rounds.

Shoot straight and be safe.

John

the web certainly does make it easier to stay in touch.
