FORT WORTH — A suspected burglar was killed and another injured when police say they kicked in the door of a southeast Fort Worth home Friday morning and were met by gunfire by the homeowner.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the 4400 block of Shackleford Street.

Sgt. Pedro Criado, police spokesman, said it appears that the two suspected burglars had just entered the home when the homeowner fired an unknown number of rounds at both men.

One of the suspects ran around the side of the house where he collapsed onto Collin Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene, reportedly from a gunshot wound to the head..

The other suspect, Criado said, ran to the men’s apparent get-away vehicle, a red Ford Explorer parked on Shackleford Street, where the homeowner again opened fire.

Police radio reports indicate that the suspect suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder and head. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The homeowner’s brother said Friday’s burglary attempt was the fourth his brother’s family had endured since moving in about a year ago.

The homeowner was being questioned Friday afternoon but has not been arrested. Police are continuing their investigation, Criado said

Well lets see...their first mistake was...BREAKING THE LAW!

and if you believe everything that is reported that is your first mistake.

Anyone breaking into my home is committing one crime. One crime is enough to make me think they would commit another. Even if they are only intending to commit a burglary, there is no guarantee that circumstances and intentions won't change as the burglary progresses.
Anyone breaking in to MY home after MY property or body WILL be shot. I would never suggest that I want to shoot another human being, but I will lay it down in stone that my body and property is worth protecting. Any good burglar in the state of Texas knows the gun laws and knows the risk they're taking by breaking in to a home. If they're willing to risk their life and the homeowner is willing to take it...so be it.

Your telling me that I should not believe the news article? So if the news article was true then there is a possibility of foul play? Because if I am not mistaken that was the topic of this thread which was posted by a police lieutenant.

You know what, I think those guys are messing with me. Prolly a made up news article. Either that are the reporter is trying to raise suspicions.

Oh well at least I have shown that I have good morals.

Right stealing beer out of a beer truck is worse than murder.

But stealing beer out of a truck is worse than defending life and property? I sure as heck think so Mike.

I can answer that for you USA1. He is here to bait an argument, as a felon he has nothing to contribute on any CHL matter. He has a long history of being an instigator on almost EVERY legal shooting discussion over at DFWstangs. The guy roots for the criminal and chastises the good guy time and time again. I am going to link some threads for you to see what type of guy he really is. I guess I will start with the same discussion that prompted him to come over here in search of the answer he is looking for.

http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/showthread.php?t=403325" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here is a thread where 5.0svo stood up for the bad guys yet again, he chastised a CHL holder for defending his life.

http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/showthread.php?t=396268" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And yet another CHL thread where he acted a fool.

Ah yes the media is ALWAYS 100% correct in their reporting and are NEVER biased.

You have shown absolutely nothing but the desire to start an argument. The only reason I responded in the first place was because I read your posts at DFWstangs (thank you killerfly) and wanted to see if you were simply here to instigate...which I can say I know the answer to that now.

Oh dear. Perhaps we should spread the word and inform others who haven't visited this thread about our new pot-stirrer?
There's really no point in arguing with someone who comes only to start trouble. Someone who genuinely wants to debate may learn something new, but someone who just wants to point fingers and call names never learns anything but how to get under people's skin. Don't provide him with ammunition for the next forum he visits...

This is one of his posts from another forum. I like that he is implying that all CHL holders are just out to shoot someone. I really don't know what he expected to do by joining this forum, cause trouble, accuse all the law abiding CHL holders of being cold blooded killers, he is definitely not here to learn or contribute to this forum in any positive way.

He is just here to get a rise out of us.

I assume that he enjoys arguing with people and gets a rise outta it. There is no other reason he would come here and defend criminals to this group.
