I only carry one plus a reload, i figure if 13 rounds of .45 don't do the job it is tennis shoe time.

Normally either my Kimber or my G19 with a P3AT in the front pocket. Several spare mags abound as well.

I usually carry two.

One in the pocket (Bersa .380 Thunder CC) loaded with Hornady JHP. One Glock 30 (.45) with Winchester JHP (Really must replace that). No reloads, one spare fully loaded mag each. Both have one in the pipe.

My wife carries a Glock 19 (9mm) loaded with Remmington Golden Saber. (and one in the pipe)

I carry two for a few reasons

Fewer guns left at home. "rlol"
I carry so I can get to a gun with either hand in case one hand is 'out of use'.
A backup gun in case one jams (not likey with the Glock, but the Bersa has been known to)
A backup in case someone thinks they are disarming me :coolgleamA:

Good post.

I carry two, P99 IWB and a M&P9c in an ankle holster, with a reload for the P99. The M&P is for the wife in the event something goes down but we have a couple of seconds to mess about. Drawing from an ankle holster is very slow and very obvious and not a good place to carry a primary IMO. Also, the 'reload' is more for rectifying a magazine malfunction (or if the plastic mag baseplate gets broken/knocked off in a scuffle) rather than for additional rounds.

I normally carry one but after reading the thread about the restaurant robbers in Dallas I am considering carrying a second.

Depends on the Situation. If I am in my truck around town, I carry one (Kimber Compact II) with Golden Sabers w/ one extra magazine and my full size Springer Loaded in the glove box so A) I can get to it if my primary jams or malfunctions B) My wife can get to it if she needs to. When we go to the valley near Mexico to visit family, One on the hip, one in the glove box, one under the seat and a Rem 870 under the back seat. If I am on my Harley, I carry my full size Springer in a shoulder holster and a Taurus 38 special in my boot. My wife isn't afraid to use a gun but she hates carrying one because of the way she dresses, a .22 derringer would stick out on her so I like to have one in the glove box if we are together, JIC. :patriot:

Ever hear the phrase "2 is 1 and 1 is none"? If u only have 1 pistol and it fails, then you have nothing to fall back on. I prefer to carry 2. A 19 IWB and a KT P32 in the pocket.
Also another reason for having one in the pocket is that drawing from the strong side holster is not always the right choice. If someone comes up to to me, pulls a gun and demands my wallet, they are asking me to put my hands in my pocket therefor it will not be seen as an agressive or defensive move that will cause them to shoot. I just won't be pullin my wallet. Fire the 32 till it is empty and go for my primary.

I carry a bach up mag for the 19 but not the P32.
I also keep a snubby in the GB of my personal vehicle.

I normally carry one gun, but I've been experimenting with carrying two because of an instructor who keeps asking me, "Where is your backup gun?" So I'm trying to figure out how to carry a Sig P229 and a Sig P239. I don't like ankle holsters, so I'm experimenting with Small of Back carry. My problem is that my waist is small, so I'm having trouble squeezing all the gear on my belt. I'm also finding that I need a stiffer gun belt to accommodate the SOB addition. With cooler weather coming, maybe a shoulder holster would work. The options are fun.

You can have a poll while still getting replies with explanations .

From reading your original post , it wasn't very clear about carrying 2 of the same type pistol .

The Sarge wrote:I carry ( on my person) either my Glock .40 cal or my Glock .45 cal and when in shorts etc. I carry a Kel Tec .32 ACP.
In my truck I have a Taurus .38 with +P wadcutters and 2 speed loaders down in the drivers side door area. In the Mercedes I have a S&W9VE. Yes I carry, have loaded spare magazines for all.
Also in the truck I have a loaded ready to go AK47 7.62X39 under the rear seat. It has a red dot scope and 150 lumen flashlight on a pressure switch mounted to the front grip. 2 30 round magazines coupled with one in the pipe give me 61 rounds at the ready ( I hate hogs and have declared feral hog jihad :) ).....
In the house I have more AK's in 7.62 and .223 setup the same as described above except the .223 is scoped and has a bi-pod mounted on the front rails.
And of course many more rifles/shotguns and pistols.
Everything gets shot at least twice a year...cleaned and oiled.....
I have a minimum of a few hundred rounds for every gun and well over a thousand rounds for each AK.
Hey man I need your number for when trouble happens so I can call you first and 911 second! lol :rock"

Generally two - in my left pocket and OWB on the right side. That way I can get to a gun with either hand, in case the right one gets injured. Also it may is easier in some situations to have you hand on a gun in the pocket than one on your waist. Also if my primary fails, I still have the second. Finally, it is generally faster to pull a second gun than it is to reload.

Funny you should start this topic. It's something I've been thinking about a lot since i read Mas Ayoob's book. I will seriously consider carrying both of my Glocks eventually. I just feel like I should get real good and safe with carrying one gun before I really start to overdo it LOL
