I screwed up!

#1

Post by jrstang473 »

Was looking over copies of my paperwork I made a few days back that I mailed in the end of September. What I noticed disturbed me pretty bad, I left one number out of my dl on a fingerprint card and forgot to put my weight on both cards. Me and my friends joke about it, but I got a feeling that stupid mistake is going to net me 3-4 months added wait time. Long story short if you are working 80+ hr's a week don't mail your stuff off. Wait till you are of very rested mind to double check your stuff. I emailed the state to see if there was anything I could do since I know the error before hand. How long do guys think it will take before they reject me. I am pretty sure they aren't going to be friendly and help me out, lol.

Hello jrstang473 and welcome to the forum . :tiphat:

it is my opinion that this will not set you back 3-4 months like you fear .
however , it will pause your processing time for as long as it takes you to get back the forms ,complete them , and get them back to DPS .

since you caught this early , it may work to your benefit to take proactive steps such as calling DPS
and speaking with someone .

what is your current status on the DPS web-site ?
does it show that it has changed to "processing" yet ?

i'm sure others who have had similar experiences will chime in soon
to give you some more opinions and how to best handle this situation .

I actually haven't gotten my pin yet. So hopefully I caught it at a very early stage.

I totally agree with USA1 and Arnold. Be proactive about and call them as quick as you can. They can still look your file up based on your DL# or Social.

I did the same thing except I didn't catch it myself. Next week I'll be at the 6 month mark. They told me the 60 day period will start over.

Update I guess they like me or my background that is.
Took class 9-19-2009
Mailed 9-23-2009
Received pin on 10-16-2009

Status changed to Application Completed - license issued or certificate active 11-20-2009

Guess I was all worried and worked up for nothing. I had sent an email to dps about the situation right after i mailed the app off and they answered my question very abruptly.

Question " I seemed to have made a mistake on my fingerprint cards , I donot have a pin as of know is there anything I can do since I know this early"

Answer " NO"

With a short answer like that i was sure I was screwed. But I guess all the good deeds I have been doing the past few months have paid off and favor has been shown upon me. Needless to say I am happy, its like an early christmas present. I thank you guys for all your respoces and support. My poor mail man is going to think I am stalking him.

11-20 appears to be the "date". Congrats to all who were approved on this date!
