From what I've read on TaurusArmed.net they haven't started shipping 9-round mags yet..

I looked at that holster too and I agree it looks pretty good. I haven't found a better one on the net so I will probably buy the Kholster. I like being able to adjust the cant of the weapon. I also like having some material between me and the gun.bobbb wrote:I've been looking for holsters for the 709 and if you like hybrid IWBs go to the kholster.com website. They now make one for the 709..they are like the Crossbreed Supertuck but cheaper and with a lot more adjustment capability...

I should be getting my kholster Friday...what I like about it is that once you get the belt clips set you can trim the leather for a custom fit.

here's a before and after .
just be sure to bevel the edges with sand paper to keep it from cutting into your skin .

to be honest , i wasn't happy with it until i did a little surgery on it .YabuUS wrote: So is it as comfortable as they claim?
after that its very comfortable . i think letting it "break in" had a lot to do with it also .
its a little stiff out of the box .
overall , i like it . but one day i aspire to own a Crossbread Super Tuck .

Re: New Taurus PT709 9mm
Picked up my new Taurus PT 709 Slim today at Fountain Firearms. Paid $395. for it - that's where the "good" deal stopped. I thought about trading in my Taurus Millennium Pro 745 on the new Slim. Only reason I considered trading in the Pro was due to the bulk of the .45. The Pro is 1.125" wide and a little hard for me to carry in an IWB holster. So I thought if I could get a decent deal I would trade it. I paid a little over $400.00 for the Pro (Can't remember the exact figure). They looked at the Pro and I knew I wasn't going to get a good trade in when they came up with the old line "We don't get many calls for these." And then "This is not the most popular model." So they offered me $125.00 for that practically new Millennium Pro .45. Needless to say I turned that "generous" deal down. The Millennium Pro was a pretty new gun - and what's more I bought it at Fountain Firearms. I had the same experience once trading in a used car. The price of guns must really be inflated. I think I'm going to love this new .9mm Slim, but these guys at Fountain Firearms really play hardball when it comes to dealing.

Maybe it does only come with the stainless steel slide. Anyway, that is a good price. I need to stop dealing with gun shops!USA1 wrote:yes it was the stainless steel slide . i thought that was the only version it comes in .YabuUS wrote:Was that the stainless steel slide model? Re: New Taurus PT709 9mm
Just returned from a session at American Shooting Center. Shot 100 rds through the new Taurus PT709 Slim. The gun performed flawlessly. Can't say quite the same for my marksmanship, however. I tend to shoot low and left. The sights on the Slim are adjustable, but I didn't have the right tool with me. The gun was very controllable and the recoil was not uncomfortable. I did invest in a mag loader to save the strain on my thumb. Also bought a box of 20 Federal Hydra Shok 124gr JHP at Carter's Country on the way home. Box of 20 for $24.95. I'm very satisfied with the Slim.

That's good to know I was a bit concerned, haven't had time to hit the range yet but I am more optomistic about it now. Thanks for the range report.
