So you have been approved and are waiting on the USPS

Well this is worse than dealing with the wait for DPS to approve me!
OK those that have been there before....Now I cannot go to the website to check my status anymore as it tells me I am approved and certificate active...how do I keep my mind off the mailbox?

Tell me about it. I haven't been this wound up since I was a kid on Christmas eve. My sister thought I'd lost it when I was doing a happy dance immediately after finding out. :anamatedbanana

I have surprised myself for sure. I waited so long (July-October) for the "process" I was getting rather disinterested....and now I am going crazy waiting on the plastic. My wife loves it though....said she doesn't have to ask me to drive up to get the mail anymore ( End of the road about 1/2 mile)....said if she gets it first she is gonna throw it away so I'll keep on getting the mail....I told her I was sure gonna miss her.

Sarge, I feel your pain. I didn't get mine today either! (but I wasn't expecting it, as I was approved yesterday, but still).

In the meantime you could:
1. Hunt for a good carry holster. Got one? Look for a better one.
2. Start putting together your conceal wardrobe. Already have? Dress that way and carry concealed around the house.
3. Look for other tactical gear, like spare mags, mag holders, belts, FLASHLIGHTS! Got them all? Look for a better one.
4. Keep in practice by going to the range monthly. Do that already? Go 2 or 3 times a month.
5. Come here and commiserate with those others doing the same.
6. Bite your fingernails. (I used to have fingernails but they've mysteriously disappeared).

"rlol" :woohoo :lol::

here's what i did .
i wanted the moment to last . i got the envelope out of the mailbox ....i didn't just rip into it like a wild animal .

i gently carried into the house and examined the outside of it (front and back)
then i carefully gave it a little squeeze to confirm it had something rigid inside ...smiled .
i took a deep breath while slowly peeling back the flap .
at this point i could hear the theme music from " 2001 A Space Odyssey " playing in my head .
and there it was in all its glory .

but that's just me . ;-)

That's exactly what I'm going to do! Except my music will probably be the Hallelujah Chorus. :smilelol5:

I imagine I'll have "chariots of fire" going on in my head as I make my way back to the apartment from the mailbox.

There was a picture of USA1 or Joe817 sitting by the mailbox asleep in thier lawnchair a while back.

Don't do that, it wasn't a very diginified picture of what a CHL should look like. :smilelol5:

Congratulations on the approval! The wait for the plastic should be short.
