Please don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you see, You were likely talking to someone who knew me 40 years ago, I can't hold a candle to these shooter's today.
I also have a 32 Tomcat that shoots very good, my Daughter and I both like it and I wouldn't mind having another. I had the 22 but didn't like it at all.

Mine bit me in the web of my hand a few times & the last time it was substantial. I am still wearing the scars. I rounded the points at the back of the slide & it has not happened again.
Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Re: Tomcat
Ooooh! I *like* that little Beretta!S&W6946 wrote:Longtooth, My Tomcat is quite accurate as well. "The Marshal" has shot it as well and had good results.
True, It doesn't have much of an intimidation factor, but it can be a valuable backup weapon.
I believe my first shot went wild,(trigger pull) but the next 6+ shots all hit inside the bullseye! That gun made me look good! I turned and told S&W6946 the secret to that little guy is just shoot the first one, and all the next rounds will count.

Right now I plan to use it for my Aug 12, renewal. Always did want to see if I could shoot a 250 w/ it. Have done it on a few practice runs. Now that the 5 hole is bigger I should. If I don't, well

The original reason I thought about getting my CHL was so I would be legal when hubby said "here put this in your purse" I have worn it to the dentist's in a Smartcarry, never noticed a thing.longtooth wrote:Does your wife have her CHL? Even before mine started carrying, there were many times it came in handy for her to hold it in her purse.

Great story.
I always carry as well when taking my daughter to the local doctor in Waxahachie. I always wondered what he would think if he knew how many Texans carry, and how many probably carry in his office. Funny thing is, I ran into him at the Market Hall gunshow, he must have had 5 rifles on his back and a couple of handguns in plastic carry cases. I think he was as surprised to see me, as I was him. Now, whenever I visit his office, I feel we have a bit more in common than before. Wouldn't surprise me if he is a member of this forum.

Re: Got busted. hilarious.
My Dr. Appointment today was w/ this DR again.longtooth wrote:Had a DR. appointment Tuesday & was headed in the building as Dr also started in. We greated & I held the 1st door for him. He got the 2nd door, nodded & as I stepped through he popped me on the left kidney area as we visited & he hit my extra mags.
D. What was that? Was that a gun?
Me. No doc it was not.
D. Well what was it? I think you have a gun.
M. Doc you sure ask a lot of questions about a guys underwear. I am by now wondering where this is going. We are both continuing to walk toward the office.
D. If that was not a gun what was it?
M. My extra magazines.
D. You do have a gun. Short pause My wife has a pistol liscense.
M. Good I will be one to encourage her.
We split up. I register & he enters the Dr. door.
Later in the office for report on last visit.
D. Did you have one last time you were here?
M. Doc you have never seen me unarmed yet. Does that make you nervous now that you know it? I am no different when you know I am armed than when you did not know.
D. Well no I guess not.
Two week ago he took a biopsy of a little place that is going to be removed.
D. Did you have one the day I did your biopsy.
I can barely keep from showing a grin but I managed it.
M. Yes sir. It was not this one but I did have one in my back pocket.
D. I never did a biopsy on anyone with a gun on them.
M. Doc, You mean that you knew had a gun on them. I am sure you have more patients than you think that have CHL. Some of us carry all the time. If you had not patted my mags on the way in you would not know you had done my biopsy while I was armed. I never did tell him the wife was setting in the waiting room w/ another one.
D. Uhhh, right. OK your questions.
All back to normal for the rest of the visit. He did tell me that I am a high mantainance patient. Too many questions. I now have thought of my response to that for my next visit. I pd him $30.00 co pay & I don't know how much he charged my ins. That was for 30 minutes or a little less. I will tell him that he is a high Dollar Dr. & the only reason he thinks I am a a high maint. patient is that I dont come in here like the average sheep just saying, yes doc, anything you say doc. I have Qs when your gonna cut on me. Minor surgery is when you are cutting on me, it don't get to be major until they are cutting on you doc.
We were through & I had the door open to leave. He says, OH yea, I almost forgot, you got a gun on today.
Me. Yes sir.
Dr. Where is it?
Me. Have you seen it?
Dr. No. where is it?
M. Under my shirt right side.
Dr. Can I see it?
M. You want to just see where it is or do you want to look at it?
Dr. I want to see it.
I close the door, clear it, show him the empty chamber & he reaches for it.
What kind is it?
Kimber Pro. .45.
How does it work?
Show him how it cycles.
How do you cock it?
You dont. When it is loaded it is cocked & locked. Showed him how the bevertail & thumb safety work.
How hard is it to pull the trigger?
4.5 lb. Go ahead.
Theres not any bullets in it???
No sir All on the seat here. Show clear again.
He pulls the trigger.
Hands it back.
We may have another convert.
Hope I can get him to the range now.

Great story LT! I'm really pleased with my Tomcat. It goes everywhere with me as my BUG. It is what I qualified with when I did the CHL class, and I was the only one in my class to score 250! That included the fellow next to me shooting a Glock 9mm with a laser (who put one 9mm hole in my target! ). I bet you will shoot 250, too, LT.

My doctor is a VA doctor...it's not prudent to take a gun onto Federal property nowadays, certainly not to the doctor's office in the VA Clinic!
They even freak out about pocket knives...
I have both a Beretta 21A Bobcat and 3032 Tomcat...they both are nice guns and so far reliable enough for CHL use.
