Re: medical records
IIRC, of all the thousands of people who have posted on this forum, no one has ever come up with an instance of medical history being a factor in their CHL application unless they reported it on their application.
There are medical databases, similar to credit rating agencies. I don't know if DPS checks them. No one who knows has ever said one way or the other.

Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.

It's been so long since I've filled out the application. Is there a form that we sign that gives DPS our permission to access our personal medical records? Due to HIPAA, they may not be able to access this information at all.

Re: medical records
well , you know who wants to digitalize our medical records .
if that's done , any government body can have access .

I can vouch for this as well from the wife's experience. She put something on her applicaiton and they flat ran her through the ringer. It ended up costing her about $100 to have her Doctor investigate and write up a letter. In the meantime she called the guy on the medical board and he said that she shouldn't have put it on there at all, but now that it was on there, there wasn't any taking it off.seamusTX wrote:IIRC, of all the thousands of people who have posted on this forum, no one has ever come up with an instance of medical history being a factor in their CHL application unless they reported it on their application.

She ended up getting her license but it really was a pain.
If anyone has any questions about what should be listed on your app or not, call Bruce 512-834-6739... he apparently is dude in charge of medical issues for CHL application. I"m sure he loves that I gave out his number ;)
