So guys, what will yall be carrying (or carry) when the license comes in?

With this new wheelgun I am actually thinking of a buying a wheelgun for carry as well, maybe one of those S&W ultralight .38 jobs or the ruger LCR. Just what I need...another caliber.

I really like the reliability of my G33, plus the boom factor, plus the ballistics of the 357 sig, but in shorts and tshirts its tough to wear all day (tried yesterday while out at the grocery/academy/homedepot/walgreens). I also like the thought of the trigger in most wheelguns being pretty long for the first bang vs an LCP or something. Don't know why that is, I have always shot autos, and never really had issues, but I perceive a wheelgun to be 'safer'. Dunno...

I was once told by a boss that "perception is reality". If you perceive that you prefer the wheelgun for carry, for whatever reasons you choose, I would think you would carry a wheelgun. In your case there is a perception that it may be safer, so you must be more comfortable handling/carrying it than a semi-automatic. IMHO, there is little, if any, difference between a wheelgun (no safety, DA pull) than there is on my DA/SA Beretta 92G. No safety other than the DA trigger on the first pull. Go with your comfort. It's all a matter of personal preference and your level of comfort and expertise. No one should really give you advice on this matter, as it is strictly your opinion that matters. If you and I were in a "situation" together, my preference would be for you to have the most comfortable and effective weapon you can carry......

BTW, we need to make sure we can cover each other while we reload.... :patriot: :fire :txflag:

I'll be carrying a Sig P226 in a Comp-Tac MTAC IWB holster. When the plastic gets here that is. It showed approved on Saturday. Hoping it gets here today. :tiphat:

Given the number of approvals seen recently, there should be an upswing in safety across the board......

It's too bad the BG's don't hang out in these forums. Probably be a good deterrent to crime if they really had any clue just how many legally armed citizens there are......... :patriot: :fire

05/01/2009 Applied online
05/23/09 - CHL class
Day 70 - app being returned as incomplete
Day 79 - Rec'd letter, mailed new photos, DD-214
Day 100 Wrote letter to State Representative
09/11/09 - Day 111 Anniversary of 9/11 - Application Completed - license issued or certificate active :woohoo
XX/XX/XX - Recieved in the mail :fire :reddevil

What a way to remember 9/11 I was in my office watching the days 9/11 events and reminiscing about that day, when I thought to check the DPS web site. There was the message I was waiting for "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"

My friend who has been waiting for his plastic finally got fed up and called today. His app went to completed 11 days ago and still no CHL. Basically he was told that literally thousands of licenses went to print in the last two weeks and that after printing they are reviewed and mailed. While the person he spoke with didn't come right out and say it, he was led to believe that completed/printed licenses do often sit in the mailroom or wherever for any number of days before going out. He was told "If you don't see it in another week let us know".

He is really frustrated at this point because he basically has no idea where his CHL is...did it get lost in the mail, mis-delivered, etc. I feel bad for him because he was so happy when his app went to completed and now he is going through this. :???:

I just recevied my plastic today, under the 90 day mark. I was really surprised as everyone else it seems has had a really long wait. I wonder if they have it under controll now, or if they just rushed this batch through to stop all of the angry calls. What do you guys think?

I don't know about which it is, but I joined here in May when I submitted my application and this seems to be the biggest group getting their plastic all at the same time.
