Recent Application Approved Individuals (past week or so)

#1

Post by neiltus »

I know I am not the first person to notice that just about everyone who was waiting from Feb-June has had their online status changed to "approved".

Just curious (not paranoid), about the waiting time to receive plastic in the mail. Do you have yours? When did you get it? Reason I ask this is it appears that some things changed Sept 1 (yes I know)...I am just curious as if they are placing approved but waiting now to mail with printer time (as someone had suggested) to reduce phone calls.

For myself, I received an email this Monday Aug 31st that I was approved and the license would mail that day. I also received a phone call from DPS the following day stating that my license was mailed the previous day and I should receive it in one to two weeks (yikes). These communications to me were received without me originating anything (they looked me up and called me vs me calling or emailing). I live in Dallas and have not received my license (mailing to my place of business).

Regards all, and hopefully a short wait! :txflag:

Gosh, that IS bizarre! The only thing I can think of is that they are following up on your July phone calls. :confused5

I dunno. In any event, I think it's a good thing. :???:

I was told it was mailed on Aug 29th. I received my license today and it was postmarked Sept 2nd. I sure am glad I do not have to go through this again until 2013.

Still waiting on mine. I actually called twice today and talked to different ladies and got two very different answers.

On Sunday, 8/30, the website said our applications (my wife and I) were complete. She received her plastic on Wednesday (9/2) and I received mine on Thursday (9/3).

Status changed on the web site this morning to complete - issued, etc. :clapping: And with Monday a holiday maybe, just maybe I'll have it next Saturday. Do my Wally Walk on the busiest day of the week  'cause whatever day it arrives I'm on the way within 5 minutes. Boy, it's great to be retired. I just told Mrs Myron it was in the mail and she told me I was going to Wally Mart alone the first time. She didn't want to be around when my gun falls out of my waist band or it pulls my shorts down around my knees

My better half (and I can assure you she is,) asked me why I was in such a good mood today..........I told her that my app was completed. I don't think she is interested in the Wally Walk when the time comes, though........she said she's afraid I might get hurt because I am such a do-gooder type guy. Always trying to help others out. I had to review the reasons again for getting a CHL. Just reassurance for her. I'm not out looking for trouble, and I am not above running (waddling) away, but there may be a time when that is not an option and my preference is to be prepared. I hope never to have to draw on anyone. Ever. But if in "that situation", I want to protect us as best possible. She is much more comfortable now....

Kudos to the DPS for getting the situation under control and making the headway that they have made. Hopefully it will continue and our ranks will swell. :patriot:

And many thanks to all those posters on these forums, as well as the moderators, for doing an outstanding job for their promulgation of information, professional management of discussions, and support! :tiphat:

Me, I can waddle with the best of 'em. :coolgleamA: And Mrs Myron knows I got my CHL for 2 reasons. #1 to protect her. #2 to protect me. In that order. Anyone else that get's protected or defended will be a side benefit but if Mrs Myron or I am not in danger the gun stays in the holster.

My time was 124 days, door to door with a re-do for fingerprints. Application was approved on Wednesday (9/2) and the license came in today's mail (9/5). Wally Walk completed about 2 hours later.

Ahh, got mine today too....a mere 125 days from mail to door.

Just in time for dinner too...

so which gun to carry, P232 or G33? More than likely the G33 most of the time.

Grandfather gave me a colt cobra circa 1968 the other day, brand new with box, would be a great carry gun, but the cylinder has not even been cycled. Very tempted to carry it though.

Good luck to everyone that is still patiently or not so patiently waiting. :txflag:
