so, do you think that after midnight , it will slow back down ?
Good question! If the rumors are true about additional staffing( which I fully believe), then those are temp jobs, and I have to assume they might go away. If that happens then probably so.
Secondly, the rumor about background checks done at HQ instead of the county level are true, then that will GREATLY speed up the background check process. NOTE: That may be a
totally untrue rumor. I just don't know. Does anyone know for sure, and the details?
Thirdly, are the levels of applications coming into HQ still at the elevated levels we saw in the Jan-April time frame, as reported in a different thread back around the middle of August?(it was a link to a newspaper article reporting monthy numbers) My personal opinion is that the levels of new apps ARE coming down. But that's only speculation on my part. Who knows? I wish there was monthly reporting on new apps and renewals. I asked that question before, and everyone seems to think that DPS publishes those figures annually ONLY. *sigh* Makes it very difficult to try to figure out what's going on.
To wrap it up to answer your original question, IF the levels are decling(in apps received at HQ), AND the processing of apps are streamlined, then:
IMHO, yes I believe it will slow back down, BUT not at the super slow levels of the past year.
