Now that's nice. I've always wanted a true SKS sporter. I'm a big norinco fan.Fangs wrote:

Does anyone know what the AK variant is that starts with a V? I think it's Czech made?
Thanks!

Its the VZ 58. It doesn't take AK mags and it is supposedly internally different than an AK. Can't say for sure since I have not held one but I do know they are very different.gringogigante wrote:Does anyone know what the AK variant is that starts with a V? I think it's Czech made?

VZ58's are massively different. FCG is a striker system instead of a hammer system, magazines don't interchange. Its pretty different. I hear that they are nice and easy to handle, though. Despite being milled, they are lighter than a stamped AK, and most of them come with a folding stock. As I understand, you wouldn't go wrong with one.kalipsocs wrote:Its the VZ 58. Here's my AK. Yugo M70 built by Century Arms International, with new handguards from Ironwood Designs, and an original M70 pistol grip.

Re: Lets see those evil SKS and AK Variants!
I sold my last one and picked up this guy. I got the flat, but after finding out how much work that was going to be, I ended up buying a NODAK receiver for it along with some Teflon bake on finish. Not sure when I will get the chance to build it. I've had it for over a year now. I've even been pondering selling it and maybe buying one already built if the prices come down. One of those projects I really need to get working on.

I saw a guy buy one just yesterday at my favorite local emporium of death. He was happier than a puppy with two... ...uuhh... nevermind....

I know people say the yugo's are the best, but I'm on my fourth norinco, and I personally think they are the best!Rawb77 wrote:
