DFW - Gun Belts

Post by mike_g26 »

Are there any places around DFW that sell gun belts? I realize there are many quality belts that can be ordered online, but I was curious if they are any places to buy one locally?

Most of the well known brands people talk about online aren't sold locally. Cabela's however does have one belt a number of people on another forum I follow really like and for an excellent price. It's their Double Duty Belt:

Looks like it's currently on sale for $25.

Some local CHL Instructors also sell gear such as belts, holsters, etc.......

DFW Guns on Mockingbird Lane usually has a reasonable selection.

If you can find a saddle shop locally, give them a try. I had mine made 25 years ago at one ( now out of business) and they still look good. Have them make them of saddle skirt leather, the thickest type available. Also check police equipment dealers, but the saddlery would be your best bet.

That's a great idea! I hadn't thought of that. Good show! :thumbs2:

Also try Gunleather, Inc. in FtW on W. Vickery.
Belts, mag pouches, and holsters. They will also order items for you.

Bought my Galco belt (double thick, 1.5 inches) at GunMaster in Plano. Avenue K and Spring Creek, just South of Sam's. They have a few in stock.

I actually bought one there Friday. It was not the high end Galco belts, but the "COP" series which are not as stiff as the higher cost ones.

I bought my carry belts (they're not really gun belts, per se) at JC Penny. I just spent some time shuffling through the rack for one I thought would do the job. I found a couple of nice dress belts that were about 1" wide and quite sturdy (that is, not prone to twisting, stretching, tearing, etc.) I wear 'em with my IWB and OWB with no problems.

Bought mine at Bass a few weeks ago. Heaviest leather I've seen on a belt and only $25.
