Doesn't matter if they post. It's owned by the city of Dallas, so a 30.06 sign is void.

I kind of figured that was the case, but was still curious if they were posted or not. I was there last year (prior to CHL) but did not take notice. I do know that the Dallas World Aquarium in the West End is NOT posted. I guess we will find out tomorrow.

We had a lovely day at the Dallas Zoo yesterday all the while enjoying my 2nd Amendment rights. I saw no posting.

The Fort Worth Zoo is posted as well...and their land is owned by the city of fort worth. They lease the land from the city of ft worth and they post a 30.06 sign. People who have inquired about the legality of this have been told that the sign is allowed because because the property is being leased and is therefore pseudo-private property. Thoughts?

30.06(e) would appear to make that an invalid posting of a 30.06 sign. It clearly states "...is owned or leased by a government entity...". Any further legal opinions on this?

IANAL, but I agree with you on this. They can't ignore the law or interpret it to say things that it clearly doesn't say. Some things can be interpreted different ways, but I don't see how this one can be.

Is the Fort Worth Zoo a private organization that leases it's land from City of Fort Worth? If this is the case, then 30.06(e) would not apply as it speaks to land "...leased by a government entity" not leased "from"

But to be leased from a government entity, it must be owned by that government entity, and 30.06(e) would apply.

Yep, Ft Worth would have to first OWN the land in order to then lease out the land. I don't see any loop hole here.
