Dallas Zoo
Alright, I tried the search with out success. Can anyone say for certain if the Dallas Zoo is 30.06 posted or not? We are going tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
Re: Dallas Zoo
Doesn't matter if they post. It's owned by the city of Dallas, so a 30.06 sign is void.TxFire wrote:Alright, I tried the search with out success. Can anyone say for certain if the Dallas Zoo is 30.06 posted or not? We are going tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

The Fort Worth Zoo is posted as well...and their land is owned by the city of fort worth. They lease the land from the city of ft worth and they post a 30.06 sign. People who have inquired about the legality of this have been told that the sign is allowed because because the property is being leased and is therefore pseudo-private property. Thoughts?

30.06(e) would appear to make that an invalid posting of a 30.06 sign. It clearly states "...is owned or leased by a government entity...". Any further legal opinions on this?

IANAL, but I agree with you on this. They can't ignore the law or interpret it to say things that it clearly doesn't say. Some things can be interpreted different ways, but I don't see how this one can be.TxFire wrote:30.06(e) would appear to make that an invalid posting of a 30.06 sign. Is the Fort Worth Zoo a private organization that leases it's land from City of Fort Worth? If this is the case, then 30.06(e) would not apply as it speaks to land "...leased by a government entity" not leased "from"Hickeroar wrote:The Fort Worth Zoo is posted as well...and their land is owned by the city of fort worth. But to be leased from a government entity, it must be owned by that government entity, and 30.06(e) would apply.S&W6946 wrote:Is the Fort Worth Zoo a private organization that leases it's land from City of Fort Worth?
