Re: Kahr PM9 or PM40 for Pocket Carry??
I used to own a PM40 and had no problems w/ it after its first 5 rounds(total 200 rounds). By far it was the most reliable Kahr I've had; however, I've only shot CCI Blazer brass out of that gun. I wasn't accurate w/ it and so I sold it.Braden wrote:<snip>
I'm looking for comments from people who have experience with either or both of these guns. I'm probably a little more interested in the PM40 since the .40 is a little more potent, but I think it may also be a bit hard to handle.
Your thoughts on either of these two guns for pocket carry are greatly appreciated.
My ccw now is a PM9. It had some issues during break in and needed parts replaced. But it runs perfectly after that. I am much more accurate w/ this gun than the PM40.
You should try both if possible. I wasn't accurate enough back then w/ the PM40 that I had no confidence carring it w/ just 6 rounds. Maybe now I'm better and would feel ok w/ it.

I own a P40 Covert. I had some problems with it at first (failure to return to battery and slide locking open while ammo was still in magazine). A call to Kahr resulted in a new recoil spring, new slide stop wire?, and a new magazine. No more problems. I love this gun. When it goes off, you know it, but it's very accurate and I have no problems staying on target with the stout Cor-Bon 135 grain h.p.
