Ryan's map is a great resource. I tell every CHL class about it and I've had a lot of positive feedback.

Thanks again Ryan,
Chas.

Thanks for the heads up. I updated the map, and added a "minimum age requirement" button.

Ryan, thanks for all your work on this map. Colorado also has a 21-year old minimum age requirement as well...

What states have open carry? A map of open carry for handguns states would be a good resource. Wisconsin is an open carry state. What are the others?

1. WISCONSIN

Joe thank you for the site. The issue is complex and confusing ; from complete open carry to go ahead and see what happens. My conclusion is to carry concealed in the states that allows. I do not need to travel to or through the other states. But it is the United States of America. State and individual right was an issue 150 years ago then The War Against Northern Aggression cleared up the issue or did it? :tiphat:

About as clear as 6 feet of muddy water old farmer!

I agree about trying to clear the confusion, especially when trying to read those maps. I wanted to make a comment when I posted that website but about that time Grandma handed me Grandson, and my hands were full of struggling wiggle worm! :lol:

Why does Minnesota recognize Texas, but Texas not recognize Minnesota? Given our relatively easy standard to get a unilateral proclimation this seems like an oversight. Is the Governor's office asleep on this one?

Speaking of that, a report is supposed to be produced by the AG's office each year that compares the laws of other states to see WHY we can't have reciprocity with them (Government Code Sec. 411.173). Does anyone have a copy or know someone who can provide us with the latest one? That should answer the question about Minnesota and other states. Anyone know the process for an open records request?

Thanks, SA-TX

Ditto that... I really want reciprocity with Ohio and don't understand why we don't have it.

Curious about American Territories, like Guam, Puerto Rico, etc. Can we use our CHL while on vacation at these places?

Thanks,

Thanks,
They do not issue CHL's in most of the American Territories, so they don't honor our CHL's. Puerto Rico does, but they can't find who they supposedly have reciprocity with. (See http://handgunlaw.us/states/guam.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/puertorico.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.) They also have much stricter gun laws in Guam. Info on the other territories can be found here http://www.handgunlaw.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
