Unusual encounter with Seminole PD.
I'm leaving work last night, just after 11:00pm, and get about a block north of where I work when one of the Seminole PD cars changes direction and gets right behind me. We traveled about two more blocks before he lights me up. I pull off the road, kill the engine, turn the dome light on, and put my hands on top of the steering wheel. The office approaches and asks if I am leaving work so I answer yes, he then asks if I am a manager there and I once more answer yes. At this point I make a decision that I am going to ask what is going on before I answer anymore questions, but I didn't need too. The next words out of the officers mouth were "Your alarm went off, and we need to check the premises." I agreed and we went back to the store. I checked the sensor that triggered the alarm and found nothing, they checked the store while I checked the camera system. In the end we concluded that it was nothing more than a false alarm. I have to give Seminole PD good marks for a quick response time and for sending more than enough officers to deal with a potential intruder. Never once did they ask me for ID or if I was armed.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

This translates to: Friday night, they're looking for any excuse to do something besides hang out near the bars looking for drunks. Our PD will frequently end up with every officer out on the same car-vs-stationary-object-total-damage-under-$500 fender bender (after the first one on scene verifies that the driver isn't drunk) if it happens between 11PM and 2AM on a weekend.G.A. The quick response time is so they can get checked out on the easy call before dispatch comes up with something else to send them to.

Re: Unusual encounter with Seminole PD.
I grew up in Denver City, about 20 miles from Seminole.
I know the Chief in Seminole. Mickey Browne shoots in Hobbs, NM in our local USPSA pistol matches. (And he's pretty dang good.) I'd count him as one of the good guys.
There are no bars in Seminole. It's dry. (That does not mean there are no drunks. Just a short drive across the state line to New Mexico, where it's plenty wet.)
