Post by neiltus »

For all you waiting people out there...just curious, how often do you call DPS to check the status?

Not log into the website, but actually call?

I will be the first to fess up. I have made a total of 5 calls to them since mailing my packet.
Course 5/2
Mailed packet 5/4
Application Processing 6/10
After reprints and all FINALLY 8/5 Plastic!

I haven't called since receiving my PIN. I fugured it didn't make any sense to call until after 60 days. However, I got a "detailed letter" just before the first 60 days was up because I was missing information on my finger print cards. So I get sent to the back of the line, wait another 60 days and hopefully it will be marked complete soon. :totap:

Well, You motivated me to call again. I got through in less than a minute. I was told they were waiting for everything to clear on me. Different than when I called before. Every time I call it is something different . So no more phone calls from me. It is to flustrating. This is my 3rd renewal. Thanks Dan

Called DPS twice this week and got 2 diffrent answers. One person told me my app. is back to processing and one told me it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get back in the system. Status is still incomplete. I figure I will just let it ride for now,

I call once a week on Wednesday as instructed by one of the people working on my application (they gave me their personal line there). Of course after the mix-up on their part, I'll be calling the Director of the department now and probably becoming a little more direct and demanding.

It had been over 100 days and just sitting in her inbasket. She said my new prints hadn't arrived. I told her I sent my electronic prints by certified mail two monts ago. She look and just said "oh". Then said you should have your license in two weeks. It was two weeks to the day. Yes, I would say it pays to call, but I woiuld think that with the 20,000 or so applaications out of the way the log jam has been broken.
