This news drew me, belatedly, out of hiding.
As much respect as I have for James Dark, I fully understood his choice to resign following the logical decision to relocate the TSRA to Austin. I wish him all the best, and hope he continues to put pen to paper for our cause.
However, after a disappointing performance by our state legislators this year, I can think of no turn of events that could be more encouraging to gun owners in the Great State of Texas than the appointment of Charles Cotton to the post. I've know Charles casually for five years and have never met a more informed, passionate, eloquent, and tireless supporter of our Second Amendment rights.
Thanks to the TSRA for this appointment, and to Charles for accepting it. The future looks far brighter than it did just a scant few months ago at the close of the legislative session.

I have never met anyone more committed, more focused and more determined to advance the cause and protect our rights than Charles Cotton...
