IDPA match Sat July 22 at PSC
Hope to see you all (at least from Houston/Galveston Area) at the monthly IDPA match tomorrow at PSC. I need to see if my repainted sight dots (thanks to my lovely wife) help in match the way they seem to improve practice in backyard.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

well.....I learned some lessons from this match. I never imagined I would leave baffled that I COULD NOT hit a freakin target to save my life, but hey....that was how the cards were dealt today. I had a great time and everyone at the match was friendly as usual.
I am quickly racking up a vast amount of knowledge about things that do not work for me.

Been there, done that, been through that ... and learning from all of it is the most important thing.
Thanx,
TraCoun
All of the new shooters did great today. Shot safely, listened to instructions and shot reasonably well. I really enjoy being a Safety Officer at this match as it is a great opportunity to meet the people who spend their time here. I encourage any of you in the Houston area who have not tried IDPA to come on out.

SRVA,
Thanks again for your help! You and your wife were especially patient and helpful yesterday..I know you have been there and can appreicate what it means to someone for an experienced shooter/SO to take time for instruction! I walked away with a great deal and had a wonderful time at both of your stages!
I wish that more of us were out there shooting! It is not expensive and it can do nothing but help your skills.....no matter how advanced or rusty they are! The stages are realistic and might be the cheapest practice out there for saving your life or that of a family member
Plus......PSC has the entire range air conditioned...come on out and see (fingers crossed)

Sorry I didn't look for you Jason as I didn't look for any replies after posting but I did talk to Tom (and Steve and Donna and Charles).
had a real good match myself well under 100 points down (79) my next goal is under 50 points down on 100+ round match
Over half my points down are missed head shots methinks I know what to practice on...
Unfortunately my 17 year old son DQed, broke the 180 during a reload. Up till then he was kicking my ego around (he is a Natural shot). We are working on his reload to avoid repeat.
Brought my 15 year old son and a friend of his. Both want to compete real BAD. However next handgun will be for my wife...
