Indirectly related to CHL...because I am teaching my daughter to shoot and she will some day apply for one.
I am looking for recommendations on air pistols that would be sufficient for basic/intermediate level training on a 10 meter range.
I have been working with my daughter using a customized Ruger MkII for conventional pistol and my Glock for action shooting. We recently moved into a larger place that has space for a 10 meter range in the garage and/or back yard.
I am not familiar with air pistols, and currently own a Crossman 1377C which is fun to shoot and reasonably accurate but has terrible sights. While surfing the internet, I came accross several recommendations for the Daisy-Avanti 747 and the Baikal IZH-46M. Based on price alone, the Daisy is definitely more attractive.
Any comments/recommendations on the Daisy or Baikal (or some other brand) would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to get the same brand used by High School JROTC programs, if anyone knows what they use.

Daisy
The Daisy 747 has a Walther barrel on it, and while I don't own one (yet), I think that will be my next project. I do own a 853C rifle with a Walther barrel, and if I don't get 5 shots in one hole with it, it is strictly my fault. They have even won some competitions with more expensive pistols.
