I am officially done with the waiting room. Got my plastic in the mail today but it was kinda anti climatic because I live on a college campus cant keep my gun on campus I keep it a friends place and he is out of town till Wednesday so got to wait a little longer to do the Wally Walk.

Called DPS today to follow up with conversation I had Wednesday and was told then that she would add my name to list to ask about since everything has been in for a month. First, as soon as she took my application #, she told me that I was going to be mad at her, as the system crashed and I would need to call back later. Called back an hour later. Was told that mine is at the printers. I asked for an ETA, and was told that she could not give one, as they send them to the printer in batches of hundreds and have to do a QC check when they come back to verify the license is correct. Status online still says "processing application".

Well, Mrs cowboy finally got her PIN yesterday, so she's really starting to feel the anxiety of the wait, realizing there is still the other LONG wait.

Well we have kind of been busy at work this week so we had not checked the Mrs. status. Low and behold I checked the mail tonight when we got home and SUPRISE! SUPRISE! SUPRISE!
Mrs. Cowboy is now the proud owner of the plastic I see her and the Taurus PT 111 making a Wally Walk in the very near future.

Went to the post office this morning, and guess what was there? PLASTIC!!!!!!!!!!

OK....I'm trying to be REALLY patient!!!! Just got off the phone with technician and was told that they are still waiting on background check from Harris county. My application has been in since April 6th. I have read that some have sent a letter of complaint to the state senator and recieved some satisfaction in expediting the application. Is this correct? Someone please give me some guidance.
