Need url

Post by glinke »

Hi folks. I am new here. Just took the class on August 1st at Denton County Sports. Lonnie is the best! I see you all keep checking your status online. I have done some searches but I can't find the URL that you use to check the status. Help, please.

TIA,

Gayle

to check your status , you must have a PIN #.
this is usually mailed to you about a month after you send in your packet .
if you applied on-line , then a PIN was included with your packet .

it will still take about a month to begin "processing application" after DPS receives the packet.

I've had my pin # since June 2, but have never checked. Because I know it will say nothing, as I've not turned in my packet to them yet. But that's all changing as of today (+about 30 as per USA1). :txflag:

If you really have your PIN, and NOT a number that 'may' have been preprinted on your yellow application, the letter informing you of your PIN gives instructions to check your status. If you do not have your actual PIN, you will have to WAIT until you are notified via snail mail. You may find, as I did, that it takes about a week for you to receive your PIN after actual processing begins.

When you get your PIN, you will have to WAIT quite a bit of time for your applications status to change from 'Processing Application' to something else.

Then your third WAIT starts. At some point your status will change to 'Sent To Printer'. Then you have from seven to ten days for them to print and mail your license. Then you will have to haunt your mailbox. From what I can tell, they only mail out one day a week.

That is why this is called the waiting room.
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

I hate to contradict anyone but, My status went from " processing application" to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" over night Monday night. I have been checking the status twice a day everyday.
Monday night it was "processing application" and Tuesday it was "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"
No message about sending to printer, etc. etc.
As far as mailing out once a week, that's likely just a rumor and makes no real sense.

Rumors abound. I heard that they were speeding up processing because their budget depends on the number of completed apps. I also heard that the new Director has issued an edict to get more work done.
Who knows ? I just go with the flow and let it happen.

upon further review, I was wrong. I had read that on another thread and since all my updates happened that way, I assumed it to be correct.

Thanks for all the help. I did the online application so the Great State of Texas has the use of my money. I got the PIN and can see that they mailed me the application. I guess I knew that since I got the PIN.

I just mailed the packet on Monday the 3rd so I'll see how fast I get the return receipt.

Thanks again.
