You can't legallly carry in a bar, defined as a place that receives 51% or more of its revenue for sales of alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.

What a great thread. I've been curious about the P250 as well. I like the idea of a modular gun, multiple calibers and grip sizes. I'm going to have to find a place to try one.

Wow, the wait for the CHL is long. I guess I'd better pull the trigger :roll: on the process.

I just had an old co-worker recommend Tom Estep for CHL and that he is a member at http://www.psc-range.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Small world.

Thanks for the good info in this thread. I'm pretty much in the same position as the OP. Researching guns and planning to get my CHL.

Welcome to the forum.

Tom Estep is great, and he is a member of PSC, but he teaches his CHL courses in Texas City.

Right, my buddy sent this info
He teaches the class on Friday and Saturday (the class is only one of the days from 8 a.m. to about 730 p.m. You can borrow a pistol from him and buy ammo or bring your own (50 rounds). The class is at the Nessler Community center in Texas City and it was a quick drive. The class is $95 and the state fees are $140 unless you are a veteran or over 60 and then it is $70.

Tom Estep
281-< phone number > cell
409-< phone number >

http://www.texas-city-tx.org/NesslerCenter.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I redacted his phone numbers from the post.

hahaha... i love my p250!!!

it is a great gun, even by itself. throw in the modularity, and it is amazing. wait for more police departments to start using them, and the possibilities will be endless!!!

To make it official, you're supposed to write your name, the weapon, load, distance, data, and location on the target, and have it signed by witnesses who are not your relatives. ;-)

thanks for the advice jim.

My name is chris, aka: allinhtown, used my new Sig Sauer P250, .40 S&W, wal-mart winchester white box economy ammo, ~10 yards, marksman indoor range, and the signatures are in invisible ink ;)

after the first few shots, I was pretty surprised, then a few more, and a few more... eventually I stopped and switched targets in fear of hitting the 8 or worse :(
