The humidy was not high, so it really wasn't bad - there is some shade and we started at 6:30pm, it had cooled off to 100 by then  .

I was one of several first timers, as the stages progressed, my times and accuracy improved. Got some great instruction from the group leader and even got some spare ammo from an out of towner who couldn't take it with him. Same guy, another M&P shooter, let me borrow a mag for one of the stages requiring (me) more than the 3 mags of 10 I had with me.

I'm using this as valuable 1) range time, 2) practice for many different self-defense scenario's (4 stages), 3) getting comfortable with drawing in a somewhat stressful but SAFE environment, and 4) Having LOTS OF FUN!!! :fire

Thanks, Steve!
were you at your "emotional peak," too?

man, I want one of those race guns.

does that make me racist?

My side of town is pretty flat. No peaks in sight. ;-)

One thing about this game, you've got to stay relaxed. The mental side is just as important as pulling the trigger.

Scores are posted here

By race guns, I assume you mean one with a red dot on it? I saw the look on your face when Bill let you test fire his. :evil2:

It does not make you a racist but it might make you a RACER

red dots, compensators, defibrillators, see-ya-laters, yeah, the works.

that 9mm Major is an interesting calibre. no wonder I kept getting pelted with shrapnel! I'ma get them glasses we talked about when I get a chance. I'll have to wear my contacts and some actual shooting glasses next week.

maybe I'll even bring enough ammo!: I only ended up shooting a few rounds of the nice gentleman who let me borrow his mags. I just wasn't planning on shootin my SD rounds, but hey, it was a good way to cycle them out!

just call me a Speed Racer fan, now! :coolgleamA:

Tuesday After Work steel was fantastic! Stages were creative/fun and I had great squad mates to play with. I can't wait till next Tuesday night. Thanks, Mr. Speer!

I was genuinely sad to have missed it, especially with the weather cooperating, but I did get a new FX processor for my guitar rack, and I had to try it out!

Glad you're enjoying the matches so much...and keep introducing those new folks to the fun!
Sad to say that we've only 6 more TAW matches this season - 5 Tuesday nighters and then the Season Finale on the 5th Sunday in August... :confused5

Drive safely, my friend. I hope your car gets good mileage because after you shoot this match you're going to want to come back next week.

What is so nice it is only 4 stages, all steel. And we do avoid the heat. Tomorrow weather is expected have some isolated thunderstorms.

The TAW match is the most fun I have ever had with a pistol and I have shot quite a few different games and put a lot of lead downrange. Nothing even comes close to this.

If it was 110 degrees and a ski parka was mandatory attire, I'd still be there.

You know, it was worth the drive. Just kidding. I am visiting family in the DFW area, and met my Brother and friends at the match. They have been talking about how great this match is all summer long, so I adjusted my vacation schedule to be in DFW to try it out!
