This was last year, went to a friends place to do some hog hunting up by Beaumont.
Got pulled over for doing 70 in a 45, I deserved it.
Did the hands on wheel and my CHL & License are in my pocket my HG is ...
And I have a FAL behind the seat.
Needless to say the DPS officer had never seen or heard of and FAL.
So I showed it to him and as he was so interested in it I wound up giving 5 officers a demonstration
on its operation on the side of the highway.
I would have loved to see the faces on some of the peoples faces as they drove by.
30 minutes later the DPS officer actually told me he forgot why he pulled me over.
I told him it was because I had a neat rifle and you wanted to see it.

Edit: I've always wandered what would happen if my dad and I got pulled over on our way out to do some varmit extermination (rabbit hunting). An AR-15, AK, and a few scoped rifles might raise a few eyebrows.

I was driving last week with 2 1911's, a Mosin, a 10/22, an AR, a 1100, and about 5000 rounds of ammunition in the trunk...74novaman wrote:Great story. I'm hoping you were just demonstrating the action, and not unloading over some guys property in front of 5 cops.

... That would have been an interesting conversation, had I been pulled over.
IANAL, YMMV, ITEOTWAWKI and all that.

According to the MSM, that's enough of an arsenal to warrant a stay at Guantanamo, you terrorist!

I generally have a 1911, a XD45, a PF9, an AR15, and generally something else in case I get a chance to go out plinking at the farm.

I did get pulled over about 2 weeks ago. I gave the patrolman my CHL and he asked if I was carrying. I said yes. I asked him if I could get my insurance out of my console. His eyes kind of got big when he saw 2 of the pistols in the console. After about 30 minutes of chatting, he let me go with a warning for the speeding (I was lost and did not realize that the speed went from 40 to 30. I was going 41. He did cite me for FMFR (my insurance card was 6 days out of date). I faxed in my proof and the citation was dismissed.
