I wonder if the Brady Bunch would put up one of those signs on every HWY entering Texas? Maybe the BG's would turn around at the border.

Maybe they will once our congresscritters pass the castle doctrine law so we don't have to advance to the rear when our lives are threatened.

I believe those signs went up in response to Florida's passing the doctrine law.

Hmm, I don't think they're getting their desired message across. I thought, "Hey, what a cool sign." At least till I read the bottom!! I can see I'm not the only one!

You have to love how they shot themselves in the foot (figuratively) on this one. I went to their website to see if I could send them a "thank you" email but the links were only to report website errors or problems donating...LOL.

After looking around and being mostly amused I came across their section on Texas gun laws and their report card for our lovely state.

Thankfully a nearly failing grade is a good grade "D-" in our collective opinion.

A grade of D- is not good enough. I want an F. I think you need unregulated open carry to get that.

You're correct Seamus as an "F" would be preferable like Alaska's "F+"...go figure the "+" part...LOL

I moved back to Texas after being in Maryland for 5 years for a job.

Even though they have an "A-" it did not deter me from more than doubling my collection over those 5 years. Most of their crap laws could be circumvented (legally) of course like the one gun a month law. All I had to do was apply for a "Collectors Designation" where you fill out some paperwork and have another background check. You can then buy as many as you want. Laws that regulated high cap mags could simply be bought in neighboring states (ie. VA). Integrated trigger locks (like on a couple of my Glocks and 1911's) could be swapped out for OEM parts or new mainspring housings. They only had to be on the gun at purchase. Ballistics fingerprinting (the most useless law) could be rendered "useless" by swapping out the barrel. The law I hated most was the waiting period.

My first gun purchase here (before my CHL) was a SA Operator which I walked right out of the store with in about 15 mins. How's that for a homecoming? Thankfully, I'm back home and I sure did miss it (except the heat and humidity). I'm 7th gen Texan (mother's side) and proud of our state.

Sorry to go off topic!!

ps. I do not condone circumventing laws, as I only made changes to my firearms after I moved out of MD where those laws no longer applied.

Excellent! Personally convinced that one cannot own too many 1911 pistols.
If that gun is anything like my Warrior, which I suspect it is, then it will be a joy to own. (hint: light/laser combo!)

And the fireants! "Fahr aints". Ya just can't get good fireants up North.
Nothing I like better than going outside on a Saturday, working on something in the yard and then realizing that you have had your foot off in a fahr aint mound for about the time is takes for 200 hundred of them little cretins to shoot up your pantsleg. It will really make you appreciate the Amdro radio commercial where the Voiceover promises the aints a quick, painful death from the poison.

And go on and admit it, y'all were ready for some real Mexican food again.

I can't quite wrap my mind around the concept of an F+ grade.

It looks like Alaska gets the + because it's illegal to sell firearms to minors. I thought that was already prohibited by federal law, but I'm no expert on that.

I think they need anouther sign about 100 feet down the road from that one. Something like this:

Florida Welcomes Concealed Handgun Licences from these security minded states:

Alabama Alaska Arizona Arkansas Colorado Delaware

Georgia Idaho Indiana Kentucky Louisiana Michigan

Mississippi Missouri Montana New Hampshire

New Mexico North Carolina North Dakota Ohio

Oklahoma Pennsylvania South Dakota

Tennessee Texas Utah

Virginia Wyoming

Make yourself at Home!

Texas could use the same thing.. hmmmmm :evil2:
Ø resist

Take away the second first, and the first is gone in a second.

So, is "F+" almost as high as a "D-"? Or is it really, really "F", more failing than just plain "F"?

So hard to apply logic when you're dealing with anti-gunners...

I actually liked that sign. I was a bit confused for a second when I saw the Brady Campaigne at the bottom. I found the sign to be positive.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.
