Newest member of the Waiting Room Crew...
Dropped off the packet today at DPS in Austin. I know I'm in for a long wait, but glad to at least be in line... Hopefully it won't be too long.

Welcome abaord & the wait will seem shorter if you visit here, go to the range some, purchase your gear, wear it at home to get accustomed to carry.
Glad to have you.

Welcome aboard! I second what LT says. I dropped my packet off on June 2nd and am using my wait time to learn all I can here and just last week I ordered a Beltman belt and in another week or so am going to order a holster. Gotta do something with the 4 month wait.

That's pretty fast! I wonder if all those temps and process changes we've been hearing rumors about are kicking in.C-dub wrote:App went to "Processing Application" today. 20 days from drop off at DPS
I will add, as a fifth circumstance in the situation of the House of Representatives, restraining them from oppressive measures, that they can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society. - J Madison, Federalist #57

Seriously though.. 20 days? wow! They're picking up speed there!
Hopefully you'll be one of the first ones to get issued under the 'new, speedier DPS'
IANAL, YMMV, ITEOTWAWKI and all that.

I'm timing my turn in so I'll only have to wait 35 days, start to finish.dicion wrote:I resent that remark... I consider myself thoroughly averagejoe817 wrote: ...and the people are great.

Just over 2 months from drop off date. Sounds like they're getting better! Now can't wait till I get the plastic! :)
