Guns Vs. Ghosts?
So my almost 3 year old daughter has really been freaking me out the last few days. The other day me and the wife heard her talking to herself in her room and went in to check on her. She was sitting indian-style and playing with her toys, we asked her who she was talking to and she said "Im talking to Manny, shes my friend, shes a ghost!" I thought it was funny and thought maybe she was thinking of Handy Manny the cartoon or something
The next night my wife was doing her hair and my daughter walked in and started opening and closing the closet door playing peek-a-boo. My wife asked her what she was doing and she said "I'm playing with Manny...dont worry Momma, she's a nice ghost she wont kill me." That comment freaks me out a bit because "Kill" isn't a word that is tossed around my house very often, if at all. I asked her to show me where Manny was and she walked to the living room and pointed down the hallway and said "There she is, theres Manny". I looked down the hallway and at that moment the a/c kicked on and the door to her bedroom shut. I was just a wee bit freaked out by that but went and checked it out only to find a normal looking room?
The next night in the middle of the night my wife was awakened by a loud slap on her big ol' pregnant belly. She thought maybe I had done it in my sleep but the way I was positioned there was just no way it could of been me. She thought it was weird but drifted off to sleep anyways, she was just about asleep when she was awakened by a young girls voice yelling the word "No". It was a voice that was too mature to be my little girls, but I grabbed the .45 and went to check on them anyways, they were sound asleep in their beds.
Now not to steal the plot from "Stir of Echoes" staring Kevin Bacon, but this is starting to feel a little similar to his situation. I have two dogs who are VERY well behaved, they dont dig, they dont eat things they shouldnt, they are just all-around great family dogs. Well, in my backyard i have a big 10'x10' concrete pad laid at the backdoor as kind of a patio type platform. The dogs CONSTANTLY try to dig underneath it no matter how much i replace the dirt/sand.
Also as a side-note and I dont know if it is related, my 3 year old draws these things she calls Bouncy Baby People. They are blob like little things with hands, feet, hair, eyes and a mouth. I thought this was pretty advanced for a 3 year old but also a little creepy because of their appearance.
Now I am not normally a superstitious person but all these events put together are starting to give me the chills. I'm thinking about letting the dogs dig to their hearts content just to see what they are trying to get at. Also I am going to try to find out if there is a missing girl named Manny or something similar from my area.
Now to keep this gun related, what caliber is most ghost effective? If any are effective at all?

shotgun with rock salt seems to do it.
whenever someone starts talking about subjects like this , my first reaction is ..oh boy, here we go. however i have seen too many things that cant be explained. lets just say that im not a skeptic anymore. since there are children involved, i can understand your concern. from what you've explained there does'nt seem to be any threatening activity . this is good.

you need one of those unlicensed nuclear accelerators that fire a stream of concentrated protons allowing a wielder to snare a negatively charged ectoplasmic entity....

Spiritual warfare is what is going to be needed to oppose this.
Guns can't help you with this deal at all, but faith in and acting
upon promises from the "good Book" will....
Might want to take careful inventory of the entertainment
your daughter is into. You'd be supprised at what the media
is trying to teach young'uns these days.

Re: Guns Vs. Ghosts?
Your daughter has an imaginary friend. I had one too that was based on a kid that was my friend who moved away from our area. It is normal, but can be lessened if you and your wife will spend more time talking with her. Could be the baby that is on the way too.
It is getting hot; dogs dig holes to stay cool. I wouldn't put anything more into that.
The main thing is that as adults we take things for what they are and don't allow our imaginations to go wild. I headed voices like your wife when I was younger. It was always just before I fell asleep. Just her mind trying to move into sleep and means no more. One truth I have found is that most of the "supernatural" is nothing more than people misinterpreting what they experience. The other part is just their ignorance and fear. That does not lessen the value of what you are experiencing because I believe your feelings are real. I also believe you are putting two and two together and getting five.
That is just my opinion and I hope it helps.

As long as the behavior is not destructive to her or property...This will pass...

I was trying to say that i actually believe a ghost is haunting my place, but It definitely is a interesting series of events and I wanted to share it with you guys. Also, I'm pretty sure 12 rounds of 00 buck in rapid succession will kill anything.

Lived in an old house once. My daughter saw lions, elephants and someone named Harpy.
Later we found a picture of the 1929 Sells-Floto Circus in the attic. Did I mention that Harpy was a clown?
Still have the picture..

Re: Guns Vs. Ghosts?
I've seen some weird stuff a time or two.. Although your mind can play tricks on you. It's human nature to "piece" things together when you dont have the answers to something. Most of the time it's logical, other times it's not..
However one of the strange things I've seen in the past was a bit odd.. The room I had as a kid used to be the room of a 17 yr old girl that lived here before we did. We had lived in the house for 4 yrs.. One night I was woke up for no real reason. I laid there for about 5 mins, I look in the corner of the room and I swear I saw the body of a 17yr old girl. It was there for a few seconds, and about the time I figured out what I was seeing it was gone. A few days later my parents saw in the news paper that a girl was murdered by her B/F, the same girl that lived in my room 4 yrs prior. That was the night I saw the person standing in my room.. Ever since then I would get the feeling of someone watching me sometimes, not very often, rare actually, even though I was well past the point of thinking about what I saw, or ghosts in general. 1 night a few yrs later I woke up in the middle of the night needing to use the restroom. I walked out of the room, and I just had a strong feeling that I needed to get out. I ran out of the house as fast as I could, freaking out, but not having the slightest clue why I felt like that all of the sudden.. I felt like that a few times while in the house, but never that strong..
The whole thing about ghosts or spirits sounds ridiculous, and for the most part I think it is. But I cant deny what I saw, or what I've seen. I'm not going to say it was a "ghost".. I have memories of when I was a kid, I'm talking 3-4 yrs old, those memories are still very vivid in my mind 23 yrs later.. I wont go into details about what I remember. To remember something that detailed of when you were so young, and the events I remember I cant overlook it..

Re: Guns Vs. Ghosts?
I believe that so-called spiritual life forms exist. Some people call them ghosts, apparations, demons. I don't know what to call them. I believe there is an entire realm of life beyone what we normally percieve. Sometimes they create contact with our existence. I don't think a gun is going to do any good against a noncorporeal form of life. For spiritual battles, you need spiritual warfare.
