Anyone interested in a small group shoot? I always see topics with members meeting up and shooting, and I also always see members from the before mentioned areas on the board. Anyway I live in Huntsville, but work and will be moving to BCS in about a month (if anyone knows of a good place to rent let me know! It has to be first floor so I can get my gunsafe in!) Any ideas about where a good place to do this would be? I know Champion is pretty centrally located, but I don't like that they have kind of a cramped range for a group of shooters.

Try Spring Heights

Try Spring Heights fourplexes off Spring Loop behind the Hilton. http://www.springheights.com/ I live there right now. The management is great. It's right off Univeristy which keeps you away from the traffic off Texas. They have a one bedroom loft that is really cool. Gun safe would go in fine.

Champion Firearms would be pretty crowded for a group shoot. I like going out to Arrowhead. They're only $8 for all day to shoot anything. That way I can go from rifle to pistol etc. The owners are nice and the place is never that crowded. I'm up for a group shoot if anyone else is willing. Just make it on a weekend, school is time consuming.

I live in Huntsville aswell and my husband and I go to LionStar b/c its closest to us and you pretty much have free reign over the range b/c its usually not very crowded. It cost $10 per person all day or you can pay $100 membership fee and come as many times as you wish in 1 year and bring 1 friend for free.

I've been to Lion Star once and thought it was a little too un-vintilated for my taste. Also I have tried stopping since while they were supposed to be open and found a locked gate. I would be up for Arrowhead if anyone from BCS wants to try that out. This weekend I am pretty much busy the whole time, but I wanted to plan a month in advance. Anyone have a good date?

Arrowhead

Hey DaveApple, is Arrowhead the one out towards Hearne on the little cutback road across from the trucker's weigh station?

Yes, arrow head is just past(or before) the rest stop deal. Here's another vote for it, I usually go on weekdays and only once have I ever run into anyone else there. Though that was kind of odd, some marine, looked fresh out of bootcamp; I was shooting at the 100 yard with the AR, he was at the 25 with an M1A. Midway through shooting he ran downrange and assaulted his target. Never seen anything like that before. Also, the owners are easy going and relaxed. I do double or triple taps, never said anything to me.

If anything goes through, count me in. I'm tired of shooting alone.

Arrowhead

Sorry, but I've been out of B/CS about a year now. I've moved to DFW..However, I really liked Arrowhead because, like you said, there is hardly ever anyone there when I've been and the owner/operator guy has a real laid back thing goin'..Good Luck.

Bumping a really old thread up in case there is anyone in the area who would be interested in going shooting sometime soon. Champions or Arrowhead is fine with me. :tiphat:
