I know where an all black PM9 with night sights is in stock, but I really prefer the 45ACP.

As you would expect, due to it's very light weight it recoils more than subcompact 1911's in the same caliber with more metal in them. I prefer large caliber handguns in general, so I don't find that to be a significant issue, but some might find the recoil a bit stout. The design wraps a solid defensive caliber in a small, light, easily concealed package that's hard to beat, and makes a fine "mouse gun" that carries enough punch to handle rats.

I do have some concerns about the durability of the fairly soft polymer frame in the rail area, which shows some wear already, so it wouldn't be my choice for putting 300 or so rounds through twice a month. For my purposes it's a very good solution for the "carried a lot, shot a little" category.
Thank you Excaliber, that's the type of info I was looking for. Being so small and light I expect the recoil to be stiff, but I am not recoil shy at all.

You're welcome, Mike.

I also installed the A-Grip material on the grip to provide a much improved and much more comfortable surface than the slippery polymer material. It's available from either Kahr or the maker, Brooks Tactical.

If the PM45 isn't listed as a model they make a product for, give them a call. I did that and the folks there recommended a unit to try. I don't remember the model they suggested, but it was an almost perfect fit with the exception that it was a little long in the grip. That situation was easily fixed after installation with an X-Acto knife. The improvement is well worth the very small investment (around $25).

Thanks for the link but that is a P45 which is only marginally smaller than my Kimber Ultra Carry. I am looking for the PM45.

Mike,

The Bullet Trap in Plano is a Kahr dealer and has a PM45 in stock. If you need something a little different (all black, night sites, etc.) they should be able to order one easily.
