Somebody's about to...
...have an LEO contact across town. Call just went out; while "cleaning" his .357, some guy in an apartment managed to put a round through the refrigerator and presumably the wall behind it.

Re: Somebody's about to...
Wow. Maybe we should ban gun cleaning...that seems to be when all the accidents happen.
Of course, since you're in Stephenville, he might have intentionally discharged it at a little green man in his fridge...![Smile5 :smilelol5:](./images/smilies/smilielol5.gif)

I'd love to see some followup on these kinds of stories.KD5NRH wrote:Call just went out; while "cleaning" his .357...
Was there cleaning equipment on the table when these events occur? Patches, ramrods, lubricants, etc? The presence of these items out on the table would validate that there was an actual cleaning occurring. I'm willing to bet that 99% of these "cleaning accidents" are just some idiot playing with his gun.

Re: Somebody's about to...
I thought "cleaning" was synonymous with "monkeying around with".

I own a Kimber, so I clean it after each round fired. Otherwise it stops working.

It has long been speculated that those cleaning accoutrements are usually placed on display as or just after the call to 911 is made. Gotta make the story look somewhat believable, ya know.TheArmedFarmer wrote:I'd love to see some followup on these kinds of stories.KD5NRH wrote:Call just went out; while "cleaning" his .357...

Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Re: Somebody's about to...
I often use my refrigerator as a safety backstop when loading, unloading, and cleaning my firearms.
I guess this is a practice I should reconsider given that most of my stuff is more potent than .357.
Perhaps I should be looking for a tougher refrigerator instead. But, as usual, the information provided about the incident is incomplete, in that it didn't identify the brand refrigerator that failed in its neighbor protection mission. I hesitate buying a new refrigerator without knowing which one failed so badly.![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

What you want is a Ballistic Refrigerator
The man at Sears will know what you want.

Yeah, that guy's fridge was probably a plastic model. Good thing they don't make guns out of plastic...

If a fridge doesn't have at least 10 Gauge skins on it, don't even bother with it.

I clean my Glock when I replace the recoil spring each year. Whether it needs it or not.CainA wrote:People actually clean their guns?![]()

I find that they require less repair and maintenance if you just don't shoot them.

Keep a 5 gallon bucket of sand in your gun cleaning room - unless you have a cat! ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
