I also answered this question in another thread. The answer is, I don't know.

The web site will contain the latest news and announcements of volunteer work days:
http://www.galvestonrifleandpistolclub.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The closest membership range to Galveston is Pearland Shooting Club (PSC): http://www.psc-range.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's a very nice place, and many Galveston County residents are members. Unfortunately, it's about an hour drive from the island.

I don't have anything against the Texas City range, but all you can do there is stand up and shoot at one target. I like to do IDPA-style exercises and practice shooting from cover and in unusual positions.

Texas City is also rather expensive -- $8 per person and per extra firearm unless you live in the city or are over age 54.

They're trying to get it in shape this summer. I need to send in my renewal and keep an eye out for volunteer days in case they need help.
