FL: Ever vigilant

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

FL: Ever vigilant

#1

Post by seamusTX »

A Gainesville, Florida, man was found dead in his car on February 23. He had been missing since February 11. The corpse was seated in the rear seat on the passenger side.

The car had seven parking tickets on the windshield.

The cause of death is not yet known. Foul play does not seem to have been involved.

I hasten to add that in this case, parking enforcement officers (formerly known as Meter Maids) are not LEOs, and the car had extra-dark tinted windows.

Side windows may be darkened but the windshield wouldn't be. I really can't see any reason for multiple tickets and not noticing that there was a body in the car. At the very least it should have been towed long before 7 tickets.

I can't image that if it was my job to put tickets on cars that I wouldn't check to be sure there wasn't anyone in it before approaching to put a ticket on it, just as safety precuation.

We are talking about Florida here. The gene pool seems a bit shallow. ;-)

Plus look at all the retirees that live there. Some of them move so slow you can't tell if they are alive or not! :biggrinjester:

Remember - Georgia was originally settled by Oglethorpe's band of social misfits, some of whom drifted south.

Mayhaps they thought it was a Zombie and decided it would best to ignore it.
