Whats wrong with this gun?? something looks off to me...

http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1002981

Ive been in contact with the seller and have my $$ and ffl ready to go, Ive agreed to buy the gun and am waiting for him to send me more pictures of the gun.

In the full picture, the end of the barrel, about the last 8 inches look weird and off colored to me. whats up with the front half of the barrel? the other thing that concerns me is the orange/ redish color at the bottom of the bolt in the receiver.

take a look at the pics and let me know if Im just seeing things or if these are things to or not to worry about. Ill post the new pics when I get em.

NEW PICS ADDED IN POST #9

You can mess up an AK where it won't fire? :smilelol5:

I jest.

I'm no AK expert so I can't help, but I tentatively say it's okay.

The orange reddish color on the bottom of the bolt in the receiver is most likely oil. The oil on mine will collect dust and turn color or maybe it is a little light rust but you can easily remove that.

The different coloration on the barrel is likely because it is not a smooth surface. It looks like a bunch of shallow grooves on the outer surface of the barrel, or at least that is how mine is designed most likely for heat dissipation.

Looks fine to me but i usually prefer to see them in person before i buy. I would follow through with it.

That's a pretty common price for AK Clones.

these days, at least....
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

Go with your gut, Grasshopper. What is your hurry? Are you willing to spend $600 for something that you may not be happy with?

DELETED

I thought you were asking for advice on the price after offering to buy it. Sorry I misunderstood.

If you don't want it that's your choice but at least have the courtesy to tell the seller instead of stringing him along.
im not stringing him along, I asked for more pic and he sent me more pics as posted above. I also asked him about the reddish orange color on the bolt and he said it was the orginal factory grease, and I aslo beleive him. I told the guy I would take it right after I got the pics and my answers. Im very sure it will be a great gun and I am very pleased to be getting an SAR-1 for 600 considering the circumstances.

the sorry sun of a gun is backing out on me now. heres his last message to me.
Dan,I dont know if you got the whole long text i just sent, but the orange you saw is the original factory grease, there is no rust on this, its never been fired and its stored in a humidity controlled gun safe. I feel its best that you find another AK locally that you can inspect in person. I have no hard feelings, and I understand your only trying to be safe and dont want to be burned, thats understandable, but I'm jumping through hoops here, I have a once again Never Fired AK. I have decided not to sell it to you, I'd rather sell locally. Thanks for your interest, good luck, in Texas you should have no problem finding another AK.
first off, why tell me all that in the beginning just to finish with, "Ive decided not to sell to you"

second - "jumping through hoops" !! what? if I ask for a few more pics and ask him if any rust is on the gun is too much to ask then why would you even bother to post guns for sale on forums? he has 3 other guns for sale on that forum as well.

third - NO I cannot find another decent SAR-1 or Las Vegas Arsenal AK47 for a decent price in TX, all the prices are stupid high and I refuse to pay them. 600 was too high in my opinion but I was willing to pay it because Im impatient and want a good gun now.

I am ticked off and have HARD FEELINGS !!!!!!!!!!!
