Oh Happy Day!

My beloved wife just asked me if she could shoot an IDPA match with me.

Of course my answer was YES. I handed her the IDPA rule book, got a holster, belt and mag holders ready for her and when she's done reading the rules we're going to do some dry practice drills.

That's way sweet! Doing it yourSELF would be fun...but having the wife unit join you? Wow! That's great!

You do realize that this is directly related to the company she has shared in her brief IDPA exposure? It will be fun shooting with your Wife! Enjoy!

Haha Jason, I'm sure you're right. ;-)

We just did about a half hour dry run in the living room. She's ready to go, all gear, concealment garment, etc.

Tomorrow after chores are done we're going to the range for some live fire practice before the match TOMORROW NIGHT.
Hammer down at 6:30. I can't wait!

That's great to hear !! Robin (my SO) has shot at two local matches. She didn't do all that well, but at least she was out there ! I told her if that bothered her, just ask them not to post her scores *shrugs*

The folks here in Longview offer IDPA style shoots on the first Sat of the month. Every other month alternates between steel shoots and IDPA-style shoots. She wants to try a steel shoot next month.
I've created a monster !!

She did actually admit afterwards that she had fun ;-)

Last night my Wife shot her first IDPA match. I tell ya, it was a doozy too. Very complicated stages with multiple reloads and a bunch of targets. The match director really got creative on this one. She didn't win but she had fun and learned a lot.

My only concern is that she wants to shoot CDP like me and the ammo costs are going to double now. I can live with that.

In the last stage, you took 3 mags and downloaded them, 1 w/2 rds, 1 w/3,and 1 w/5 and put them in a range bag with your gun empty next to the bag on a table. You had just come home from the range, sitting at the table and were about to clean your gun. Suddenly, it's a home invasion!
So you grab your empty gun, and range bag and run for cover. There were 5 BGs, your spouse, child and family dog are all mixed in with them, and they all got two shots each. You could only use the 3 downloaded mags that were in the range bag 3 mags, total 10 rounds, 5 BG's, can't afford to miss! A very TENSE 21 seconds for me. Fun though.

Looks like it's time to call Dillon if you don't reload already.
