I just got a call from my State Rep's office, they said someone from DPS will be calling with an estimated date of issue today, I will vote for him again.

Latest update, DPS called yesterday and the lady was very nice, but said they're overrun with apps and are way behind, she said mine is waiting on Galveston County BC and that's all. She had no idea when she would get it, then she looked at my info and noticed I'm barely over the 60 day limit and then seemed much less concerned. I guess she gets lots of worse cases than mine, but I'm over the 60 day limit and won't stop just because they're understaffed. My State Rep Larry Taylor has been very helpful.

Lovely.

Thought I'd check my status tonight just on a whim. Got the AWFUL "application incomplete..missing information..detailed letter sent" status.

Can't wait to see what I left out. My instructor very carefully checked each of our packets twice.

100 days, here I come.

Barf.

I feel your pain. I got that status right at the end of my 60 days. Then was told my cycle will start all over. Well, I"m on day 74 now. Just waiting to see what happens next. :???:

Status changed to Application completed....on Feb 2nd. Haven't received plastic yet. What is the typical wait time from app completed to plastic in hand?

That would be nice. Planning on going to the gun show Saturday. I have a very common name (not as bad a John Smith but almost) - some clown in NJ has the same name including same middle initial and the same birth date and of course a rap sheet. Needless to say NICS calls are hit and miss when I purchase a firearm. About a third of the time it is denied. Having the CHL will help me avoid the emabarrassment of trying to explain to a FFL that I am not a criminal. Shoot, I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 20 years much less ever been arrested.

I have had a CHL before. I let it expire because I was traveling internationally. I'll NEVER let it expire again. I still can't imagine what I am missing. I was hoping for a breeze through.

Mailman Came with the little white envelope. :hurry: :hurry: :hurry: :hurry:
Went to lunch (carrying) and had an officer Directly in front of me in line. No problems and felt great. Will hit WallyWorld Tomorrow.
