Marines in Iraq teaching ladies to shoot

Post by TxD »

Just ran across this story from last year. I don't think it has been posted.

Image

"AMERIYAH-FERRIS, Iraq — The training program designed to strengthen Iraqi Security Forces and employ women in the fight against terrorist activity has expanded in Al Anbar province as several new recruits graduated and became the Sisters of Ameriyah-Ferris here on June 5."

The Iraqi's appear to be more cosmopolitan in their outlook regarding women than vs. the Afghan's.

a) the woman would probably never be allowed to shoot in the first place

b) the male Marine would never have been touching her

It might be different in Kabul, but I was out in the boonies...

I have decided that you can only tell people not to cross their thumbs so many times before you just have to let them find out for themselves why that is. Once they draw blood, it generally makes a rapid and lasting improvement in their grip skills.

Great story! :patriot:

I'm going out on a limb here, but I would assume the marine with their hand on her is actually a female marine.
