How about expanding the size of the subject line? Sometimes

errr, ahem, sometimes it seems quite limited and +64 chars is useful. On my screen at least there is plenty of real estate left over so they subject wouldn't be wrapping multiple lines.

I had to look quickly, but I didn't see an option for the character limit for the subject line. It must be hard coded.
