Surprise.......

Was just about to make my weekly call as today is day 95, but my wife brought me an envelope with a little plastic ID card in it. :) :) As we Aggies say, WHOOP!!!! Funny thing is that the website still has "Processing Application" listed for me. Oh well, don't care what the website says, I have it now.

Here's a summary of my fun:
  • Packet Mailed --- Feb 7, 2006
Packet Received by Austin --- Feb 10, 2006
    PIN Received --- March 9, 2006
    Day 60 --- April 11, 2006
    "License Issued-certificate active" date: --- ???
Your receipt in mail date: --- May 16, 2006

    Total Number of days (2/10-5/16) --- 95
So, thanks for all the memories in the "waiting room", but now someone can have my seat. It's little worn, but comfortable. :)

:chldancing

Okay, in fairness to Ryan, he didn't put the CHL Dancer on here, I did. I'd like to reserve this one for guys and gals who just received their CHL's and are leaving the "waiting room."

Thank you Skipper5! I see that you will be at 63 days next Thursday. Here's to your wait ending not much past then, if not sooner :cheers2:

And a great site this is; since I've been lurking around here I have learned much. No doubt that there are many nuggets of wisdom still to be found.

Since the DPS got my returned TR-100 two weeks ago on Tuesday and the app status tracker online still showed application incomplete, I e-mailed Waldene Leach (waldene.leach@txdps.state.tx.us) at the DPS CHL office yesterday to see if there was some other issue that needed to be resolved, or if they simply had not yet updated the status online. I also asked how much time the unsigned TR-100 would likely add to the processing time.

I have not yet received a reply, but this morning my status showed "processing application." While some of you are getting tired of seeing this, I am just happy to not see "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter sent." At least now it looks like something is being done. ;-) I guess the squeeky wheel does get the grease, as they say. Today I am at 66 days since DPS originally received my app and 16 days since they received the signed TR-100 back. I'm hoping for a (slightly early? :praying smiley:) Father's Day present from the DPS.

Barres, Skipper..... and our newest "waitee" Freedom..... what a Motley Crew we are. Reminds me of a time back on the Island of Midway in 1942. Ah the good old days, or was that Laos in 1962? Ah who cares I was waiting then too. No it was Conroe High School in 1972, I waiting on the Bell to ring so I could go home and WAIT for dinner, I figure I have spent most of my life waiting on someone else........ Then I got married, Holy Cow then I really got to wait....... Where is this story going? No Where, just waiting.

Just a word to the wise. Come this Saturday, if you're found sitting next to your mailbox in a lawn chair under an umbrella fanning yourself with your file copy of your CHL application, you're going to look pretty silly. But do it anyway, it’ll make a great photo! ;-)

Already called the wife and ordered a pitcher of Ice Tea, told her all chores are on hold! I have a mail box to watch.

Congrats Diode and Skipper, patience has paid off. Looks like a trip to Walmart is in your near future.
