I am bringing a crew of 6 or 7 from Fort Hood, should be a great time. It will be nice to check things out. Question though, is it usually warm in the Crockett Center? I dont want to freeze or be too hot, I have never been there before. Thanks

It can get slightly warm if it is really crowded, but is generally comfortable.TexasRedRock wrote:I am bringing a crew of 6 or 7 from Fort Hood, should be a great time. Ok sounds great, Thanks Dave. I hate going to a new place and not knowing what to expect.

I can't make it, but two of my brothers are going. They will be looking at AR lowers.
Spartans ask not how many, but where!

I'm planning to go early Saturday, too. Given the nation-wide 'frenzy' of gun/ammo purchases lately, I expect all the 'good deals' to go fast.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

I'm guessing it's going to be a complete zoo. ...but I'll be going anyway. I'm considering just riding my bike to get there.

I just checked my gunshow schedule and see there is a gunshow at the Mayburn Center in Temple. I can run down to that one as it is only a 30 minute drive. Can't get to far away as we are taking care of my wifes 80 year old mother who fell and broke her right shoulder. Had surgery last thursday and is recooping here.

Temple gun show sounds a lot better.
I think I might have seen my last Saxet show at the Crockett Center. You say it's going to be a zoo? It's always a zoo. Maybe gun shows just are not for me. I've been twice. That's plenty for now.

Planning to be there early. Hoping to find something "other" than EBR related. (Bought a lower a few months ago, have plenty of mags.)

Re: Who's going to the Saxet Gun Show in Austin this weekend?
Well, got to the show a little late - like about 9:30.
Parking lot was PACKED, with people circling around and looking for a spot. Line extended clear out the front door, so there were probably an additional 50 or more people backed up inside.
Saw several people leaving the show, empty-handed. (One guy was carrying a coffee cup.)
I turned around and left - figured if anything left WAS worth buying, the odds were I wouldn't see it.
Crazy . . .

Amazing, The line to get in was down one side of the building and around the corner into the parking lot 20 minutes before the doors opened!
People were constantly pouring in for over an hour. The popular ammo was mostly gone within an hour. Prices didn't seem to be too inflated, there were plenty of guns to go around. Other buyers loading up with magazines, but seemed to be plenty.
The crowds didn't seem too bad either, I think most people knew what they wanted and were in and out quickly.
I was there about an hour and a half and left with some brass.
