So I found a local shop (Powderhorn in San Antonio - Highly recommended) and picked up a WASR 10 AK-47. Yeah, AK's are kind of 'junk', but what a cool weapon. I can't wait to take it to the range. I just didn't have the funds for a Yugo or Bulgarian variant, but this'll do. :)

Pictures will be coming when I get home tonight. I've got to go to my Dave Ramsey class tonight (oh the irony).longhorn_92 wrote:Recommend:pbwalker wrote:I had posted a WTB in the Classifieds yesterday (on the board here) but realized time was of the essence. I happen to think women in tight black leather is rather sexy!fm2 wrote:I don't think AK's are kinda junk. They are not the prom queen the AR is; they are more the biker chick.
Get you some extra mags from Copes, AIM etc, 20 or 30 rounders, NOT the American made ones. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Bulg ... azine.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The "best" AK mag (7.62x39) is the Bulgarian "Waffle" mag. They're about $25 compared to 10-12 $ for the steel mags.
Sling- The Blue Force Gear UDC sling with the long sling loop is a good one. The Tactical Tailor Urban Ops sling is nice also.
XS makes some nice night sights.

WillieD, ME TOO!
Pretty much everything you could ever want to know about AKs can be found here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/board.html?b=4Mike from Texas wrote:I'm thinking of picking up an AK myself. I know NOTHING about them. Can someone give the Cliff Notes version of what to look for or stay away from?
They are GOD awful ugly but the ammo is cheaper than 5.56 ammo and they will eat any kind of ammo from what I have been told.
