Gun, I agree with you completely. At the steel challenge, since I was shooting my HK, many people took pity and let me try their race guns. Very nice. It is the first time I experienced holographic sight on a pistol, very nice.
When you have grandbabies you will be on our side. As for the race guns?? Well maybe a one time novelty at a match. You sure can't carry them. Maybe all are not this way but the guys I know shoot them all the time & can't hit 55 gal drum w/ a carry pistol.

Yes Seadog. Dpatterson taught me & made notes for me. I did it then after he left my old mind went back to the well rope & crosscut. couldn't do it. Son-in-law came & he went through it w/ me. I actually put three on the site learning w/ him & then deleated them. The Springer is the last one I did w/ a coach. The last 2 were solo. If I can get another on here this afternoon between church services I will have it whooped. Thanks to all for the encouragement.

The 2- 1911's are cocked & locked. That is "safety locked" so trigger cannot be pulled & slide will not cycle. The Springer on top has nothing in the barrel & the mag is out of it & out of the picture. The Kimber under it is empty also. The barrel setting on the mag & the bullet is from the barrel. 1911's are designed to be carried as you see these two. There are actually 2 external safeties on 1911's. The grip safety right under the hammer must be depressed as you grip the gun then the thumb safety on the side at the top of the grip must be pressed down before it can be fired. We who carry 1911's consider them safer than handguns with a single safety or no external safety. No hand gun is safer than the shooter though.

Wife called for lunch so I will finish now. You are very observant & I am glad of that. What you see in the pics will translate into what you see on the street. The 3rd one, Kel-Tec P3AT, I did take straight out of the holster & shoot the pic w/ it loaded. That one is a double action only & therefore is not "cocked" and cannot be. From the picture there is no way of telling whether it is loaded or not. The Mag is in but to declare it loaded one must assume the mag is loaded & there is one in the pipe. The trigger must be pulled & the hammer comes back every time (just like a revolver) before it falls against the firing pin. It is basicly the same as a double action revolver which has no external safety & never leaves the hammer back in single action mode. The absence of an external safety is the reason for a pocket holster that covers the trigger. This eliminates the possibility of something in the pocket "pulling the trigger" when putting it in the pocket. Again, No gun is safer than the holder. Good observation.

Thank you DWS. Wont take as much memory as you think. I do not have a safe full as some do. The 3 you see are my carry weapons. The wife has her 2. I only own 2 rifles & 1 shotgun. Springfield M1A & a Tikka .300 WSM. Moss 590. Hunt w/ the M1A under 150 yds w/ battle sights. I shoot all I have. If I don't need it I really can't justify having it. Yes that is a music stand. I play a guitar at church & the wife her Mandoline. Name my guitars like my weapons. Ronda is a Collings D1A w/ an AdaRONDAc Sprice top. Wife plays a Breedlove. Good observation. If you play that would be a good reason for us to get together again for a shoot & jam after dark. Wife really sings too.l
