CHL in Church?
So how many of you carry when you go to church (or shul)? How many of you think it's not appropriate?
it's socially unacceptable to be ahead of your time.

Re: CHL in Church?
Very appropriate. I carry there.
The preacher at my church does too & he knows I carry too.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Wish I could carry at the office, as well.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

I carry, Definately appropriate. Our church has a history. A few years back a CHL holder MAY have made a difference. We'll never know for sure, but I will always be armed in church.

Re: CHL in Church?
I am not the shepherd, but I am a shepherd. Like Longtooth, I shepherd the flock of my congregation. It would not be appropriate for me not to do everything in my power to prevent the wolf from snatching any from my flock. Even if it costs me my life. Yes, I carry.John Chapter 10, verses 11 - 15 (RSV) wrote:[11]: I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
[12]: He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.
[13]: He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep.
[14]: I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me,
[15]: as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Yes and Yes.
As far as Saturday goes, http://www.yeshiva.org.il/ask/Eng/?id=13" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think the Rabbi said yes also.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition...or something like that.
I do carry in church and I don't think there's anything inappropriate about it unless your church as a whole has something against it. I can't name names but, I do know that more than one high profile clergyman in the Houston area has obviously resolved any conflicts he had with CHLs. No matter what's posted at the door, you can bet the preacher has more than the Holy Spirit and some bodyguards protecting him at the pulpit.

When you take the time out of your day to beat someone, it has a much longer lasting effect on their demeanor than simply shooting or tazing them.

Re: CHL in Church?
Your thread would eventually have fewer replies if you asked who does not carry at church.
Yes I carry at church. I have a feeling the parish priest would not mind because during one homily he mentioned our duty to defend the weak and helpless including the God given right to self defense using any and all means available.
In fact he stressed that to not do so is a sinful act and is contrary to God's plan.
Our parish has 24 hour devotion. There is always someone there praying in His presence. Security is paramount.
