Well I have been on this forum now for about a month. I am still in the waiting room 68 days and couting. I'm a 25 year old male living in the Austin area with my wife and our 2 dogs, 1 cat, 10 or so fish. I will be carrying a Rugar P345 in a uncle mikes "sidekick" IWB, but depending on the clothing and situation I'll go to my Polish P-64. I work in a State Prison as a Sergeant. So I get to deal with the scum of the earth on a daily bases.

I might should have posted here first, but better late than never. I'm an IT guy working in the DFW area with a wife and two daughters. I fish and play guitar and bass. I hope to be carrying an XD40sc in a crossbreed supertuck if I can get used to it.

New to the board, but very interested.

My name is Evan, I'm 25 yr old male living in Sugar Land. I manage an auto repair shop for the daily grind. I'm working on getting my CCL, but have been shooting for years. My CC weapon will be my PX4 9mm.

Welcome aboard & that is an excellent choice of carry. Piano player at our church carries one. Wife & Mom both have one for range & house gun & love them.
Glad to have you. Keep us posted on progress toward your CHL>

Welcome aboard Sir!

Good choice of carry weapon, I shot one recently and was favorably impressed.

I'll step in and introduce myself in the forum proper. :tiphat: I've been lurking for a few months, and have been hangin around the Waiting Room for a couple of days. I'm currently a Mechanical Engineering student going to school out of state. I play blues guitar and recently found a really nice place to shoot locally, so I hang around there a lot. My application was received at the DPS on 5/9, and today is day 120 on my wait. I've been calling my Rep's office pretty regularly to get something moving, but I'm not sure much is happening. The sooner the better, I say; I dont exactly live on a great side of town. Once its legal, I'll be carrying a Rock Island Compact 1911 in a Comp-Tac Minotaur that should show up shortly.
I'm a Ramblin Rack from George's attack, and an Elephant Engineer!
App received by DPS 5/9; CHL issued day 129, 9/15

Thanks for the welcome WildBill. I've been hoping all these "procedural changes" they've been making will eventually get applied to my application. Only time will tell, I guess.

I am 41, married 9 years to a lovely woman who has begun to enjoy going to the range with me more often and even has her first firearm now. She even listened to my reasons and accompanied me to a CHL class, she made herself proud by not only passing her test but her range quals with no issues whatsoever. Escaped from the Peoples Democratic Republic of New Jersey six years ago and have been living here ever since. :)
