Try Denton County Sports - 409 Copper Canyon Rd., Argyle - 2 indoor climate controlled handgun lanes available.

or

Magnum Sports Center - 4934 Duck Creek Rd.in Sanger (just north of Denton). 940-458-7000.

Rustic outdoor ranges available for pistol, rifle, and shotgun.

They conduct a lot of CHL classes. If going on a weekend, call ahead to check what ranges are available during the time frame you want.

Just how "rustic" are we talking here?? Do you have to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to access it?

Do you know if they have trap and skeet available?

Denton County Sports has 2 indoor climate controlled handgun lanes with a classroom structure and a parking area in front.

Magnum Sports has 3 outdoor ranges, also with an office / classroom structure and parking area in front. You don't need any special vehicle get there.

The covered pistol range is about 8 positions (as I recall) with target carrier systems.

The rifle range has a covered shooting table and fires into a deep wash that is a few hundred yards long. Targets are informal - whatever you bring. Safety control on this range is informal by the shooters present, so alertness and range safety consciousness are very important.

The shotgun range is a separate open field. There are no fixed target launchers. A very simple hand operated launcher is available for use.

Thanks.

It looks like we'll have to meet in Fort Worth.

http://www.geocities.com/gibsonoutpost/ has a long list of gun ranges in DFW that I have been able to accumulate... I am in process of updating FTW gun ranges... it is just not complete but does have many of them listed.

breaks out public and private ranges with phone and websites to checkout.
