Wally walk stories from April applicants
Figured one thread might be good for all us April applicants that are now getting out licenses. No reason to have a bunch of new threads running around since there seems to be more than a few from April finally getting their plastic.
Plastic came in today and took the walk earlier. Must say I really do not venture into WW often but I had to uphold the tradition. Did not have nachos as my WW does not have a snack bar and did not buy any ammo as there was no one to be found in sporting goods but did hit most of the store, bought some groceries, and even ran into a couple people we know. All in all it was uneventful and went without a hitch other than the holster trying to dig out a channel in my hip for it to rest in.
Ok so now we need other wally walk stories.

Re: Wally walk stories from April applicants
I also went to WW the other day. I did hit the Mcd's there and basically cruised the rest of the Store. I bought a box of ammo and waited in the longest line!! Very cool! Then I went to the Rest room (part of the pre- requisite) and I'll be darned if I had a Heck of a time figuring out what to do with my weapon. Sitting in the stall I was like OKAY now what do I do?? After much thaught I decided to actually hang it on the little hook that most people hang their jackets on. This was ok since I dont quite feel comfortable carring with a round chambered yet. Im not sure what I'll do when I do carry chambered but as for now thats my story. Unfortunately since I was by myself I have no pictures though.... IM JUST GLAD TO BE A CARD CARRING CHL MEMBER!!!

LOL!!! Thanks for posting that. I've actually been wondering what you're supposed to do with the gun when you ....#2 in a public restroom stall. I don't have my CHL yet, so I haven't had the opportunity to see what works yet.Rub N Smoke wrote:Then I went to the Rest room (part of the pre- requisite) and I'll be darned if I had a Heck of a time figuring out what to do with my weapon. Re: Wally walk stories from April applicants
It's a situation that we've all had to deal sooner or later. There are many opinions and a search should pull up at least a few threads on the subject. BTW, could someone have reached over the top and grabbed the gun off the hook? They would probably be trying to score a jacket but instead find a handgun. Hook is really not a good idea.

Lol I have to admit I did not make a pass through that part of the store. By that time I was ready to tackle the self checkout lines, ok it was really the wife that was doing the tackling but I was there backing her up with the trusty .40 in case the machine got out of line and someone had to take care of it .
Re: Wally walk stories from April applicants
New SA40 $400
CHL Class $99
CHL $140
IWB Holster $60
You protecting me from the machines at the self check out on the Wally Walk.....Priceless
I enjoyed the giggle...

I wouldn't hang it on the hook in the stall either. You never know when some freak congressman is going to want to play "footsies".
Congrats on your Wally Walk

Re: Wally walk stories from April applicants
You know I really didnt think of that!! Thanks for pointing that out. Now I need to figure out something new/ better to do with it. Out of curiousity, where does yours go in that situation?? Or anyone else who might chime in would be GREATLY appreciated.Mike1951 wrote:It's a situation that we've all had to deal sooner or later. This is now only furthering my aversion to using public restrooms.

Hmmmm, I think from a tactical readiness standpoint I may have to draw and hold with my weakside hand and wipe strong side.

Re: Wally walk stories from April applicants
In all seriousness, how about just carrying a good old fashioned handkerchief in your pocket like I do? If ya gotta drop the drawers in the stall just put the hanky over your pistol before you do. It's still concealed and anyone spending that much time looking at your feet and drawers might not be right in the head in the first place!
