Range that rents around DFW airport?

#1

Post by CJATE »

I’ll be on the south side of DFW Airport next week, doing a work related seminar with evenings free.

Any suggestions on ranges where I can rent? I am aware of the BPS range, but my recollection is that they don’t rent. I have never shot an XD or any 1911 less then full size. There are not ranges around me that rent.

any Range I should avoid?

The Shooting Gallery in East Fort Worth is about 30 minutes (in traffic) form the south exit of DFW airport. They've got a good selection of rental guns.

Bass Pro doesn't rent guns.

The closest ones I know of are Elm Fork http://www.elmfork.com/index.html outdoors, or DFW Gun Range http://www.dfwgun.com/ Map http://www.dfwgun.com/Location.htm indoors and air conditioned. A little farther away is The Bullet Trap in Plano http://www.bullettrapinc.com/, but their range is not air conditioned and gets pretty hot in the afternoon and evening.
Not sure on what they rent at Elm Fork or DFW, but DFW may have a better selection. Bullet Trap has a great selection and will have the XD and 1911's.

Have fun!

Elm Fork is closed on Mondays and tuesdays. Winchester is open til 8 pm during the week. Their guns are kinda beat up and cost around 20 to rent. Did you not bring your own with you?
Ben Franklin once stated that beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. I tend to agree with him.

I did not think they did, thanks for clarifying.

trip is next week, and I'll have my 1911, but I get to shot it all the time. My only accesses to other guns is via rental, and there is not a rent range around hear.

thanks guys, trip is early week, so sounds like Winchester is my best bet. any one know if I have to "join" to shot once?

You don't have to join to shoot. I think you'll like the range and the personel. A lot of good folks work there.
